I'll grab my shotgun and head for the woods...wait, I already do that on almost a daily basis now. I guess I'll maintain the status quo.

odon didnt you read the quote,,there government will make it all better..

and for the record,i stay very informed on such matters you didnt have to waste your time posting something i was already well aware of..

that being said,,i guess in a country that imports all of there food they should have used common sense and made preparations for such a possible event,..

you know, stockpile a few months to a year of food water and essentials in case of a emergency..what a concept huh?

kinda like all us nut jobs here in the states do..;)

so let me get this right,,your saying because these people showed no personal responsibility,no foresight to prepare for the unknown,i am supposed to take my preps and bail them out because they were to stupid to think ahead and prepare for the unknown themselves?

see it doesnt work that way in the prepper world odon.. we have shown personal responsibility and prepared to take care of our own in the event of a emergency. we will not seek aid from others if and when a calamity strikes. we showed personal responsibility and took steps to see to it we an fend for ourselves.

this concept of preparing for the unknown is not a new concept, nor is it confined to the united states. they could have made the choice to prepare..they didnt..

much like you they went on with life believing it could never happen there, and believing if it did the government would bail them out.. and look where it got them...

no,,they get no aid nor sympathy from me.however there plight does reinforce the mindset that one should be personally responsible for there own long term survival.one should not be so foolish to say "it could never happen here" or "the government will take care of us".because the simple truth is that may not be the case..

you mock and scoff at me for having food and essentials put back, you say it wont happen here, you say if it did the government would see to it we were fed.. the simple fact is YOU DONT KNOW THAT FOR SURE! you are just speculating..

i will continue my path with the peace of mind that i have made steps to be prepared for whatever is in our future. because the simple fact is the future IS unknown..and the plight of iceland only reinforces that fact...

  4. We will all get forced into the FEMA concentration camps?

only if you choose odons path and have no means of sustainability after the infrastructure collapses... ;)

dont worry after a week or so with no food they wont have to round you up and force you to go,it will be voluntary of course.. ;)

im not big on crowds,so ill keep on preparing for my long term survival.. yall have fun in those camps though...

...and you know what? they probably will.

Last time I checked I could not read minds.
I posted what I had read on the matter and shared.

    FTR
    I was well aware of:
The text of the proposed bail-out.
All that crap about September being the end of the world (my hyperbole) etc.
    (the list goes on)

You know, next time, before you post something, can you make sure it is not about something I have heard of before...cuz it is a waste of your time when you do post stuff I already know.
I stay informed about these things you know.

IMO (as you know) I think the US is not going to fall apart as some predict.
I imagine unlike Iceland if the food stopped the US could easily last several years with the supplies it has and the food it grows.
Iceland (I am sure you know this, ofcourse) has been under IMF watch for months - so they are preparing and are preparing for the worst...(I would post a link, but you know, seems I can't.)
It's food supply is not running out.
Food is flowing into the country just like the US.

For some reason it is more the US' style to do what you are a prime e.g of.
Even though unless of a natural disaster occurs you don't actually need to really.

If you were that well informed you may have realised Iceland is not running out of food.
One supermarket (perhaps a few more) can't pay their bills - that's all. Look it up if you don't believe me (you probably have already, right?.)

No. I was joking. It was a joke.
I took a country that was in worse shape than the US and used that one.

    Finished?
    Hope so.

    I know I don't .
    I never said I did.

    Great, knock yourself out.

One major distinction between the US and Iceland is their lack of natural resources. Other than fishing, they don't have much to offer in terms of agriculture or other food sources. My understanding is their primary industry is finance, so it's not too hard to figure out why they're in so much trouble now.

By contrast, the US has got lots natural resources, land for farming, etc., assuming we don't trash it by drilling for oil and coal mining, or sell it off to the Chinese to bail ourselves out of this financial hole we've gotten ourselves into...

Iceland has run to the enemy already..

I’m sure the U.N. would of helped them when they were starving in a few months but a few billion for plasma T.V.s in the holiday season?

I think they shot themselves in the foot; I’m not a politician but selling yourself to all your neighbors’ enemy? when the Russia doesn’t even have money to pay them. A cheap international street whore? lol

""But what price will the Russians demand for their bailout? A highly-placed source in Reykjavik tells Coffee House that Iceland might look kindly on requests from Russia's military to use America's former military base in Iceland. America closed its Naval Air Station at Keflavik Airport two years ago, handing back the Nato facility to the Icelandic government.""

i cant worry over this.. theres nothing i can do about it and worrying accomplishes nothing..
we are as prepared as is possible for whatever comes down the pike..thats about all we can do..
so theres no sense worrying over it..

I agree there's no point in worrying about something you can't change. My hope is that the collapse is gradual enough that we have the opportunity to adapt to the loss of the infrastructure we take for granted before it's too late. It's not as if our government will give us any warning, they obviously don't give a shit about us.

The DOW has dropped below 9000 now, ready to drop below 8900 at this moment.

Looks like another $1 trillion lost this week....

Watch out for falling stock brokers...

i read the latest estimate is a quadrillion in derivatives out there (no one knows for sure) so they only have another 990+ trillion more to lose before this thing levels off...

It's not that bad, The "grid" isn't going to go down but the government will use your fear against you and try to get a full throttle panic out of it's people in order to support whom ever's agenda can profit or be forwarded by this "crisis?"

    Remember 9/11?
