I really like your choice of colors.
Alot of art I see by younger people is so dark.
Yours has such a lightness about it...in color and feeling.
The one with the markers takes me back, I used to do some drawings like that, especially when I did acid, I of course also wrote down things that I thought were great revelations that would change mankind forever and the next day after coming down would read them and they would make no sense....walls are just melted rock pushed through processing....stuff like that.

Your computer stuff is a bit mystical, the second one reminds me of going thru the light when we die and getting nearer to the other side.
The first is like those painting machines where you squirt in the paint while the board is spinning.
I've seen the retro girl one around on her posts and always liked it.

I may ask you about giving you a few bucks for designing a cover for a cd Larry and I will work on next year. He has one now called "Ace's Basement", its a pic of a small card table with a hanging light over it and a black backround, but he's not going to use the same people again...we've lost touch.
I'll let you know if we're both still around at the time.

Thanks for sharing your stuff, glad to know you a bit better,
    teepi

Heh, well, I usually use psychedelic rock for inspiration, so I think that has something to do with it.

I was actually inspired to do that one from the 13th Floor Elevators album cover pictured here:

Eh, really, I don't even consider that stuff art. Those are really just me goofing around with Photoshop's effects. [IMG] I do like the one effect, though, that you mentioned looked like going through the light when we die.

Wow, I would definitely do that for free. I have actually designed a few album covers. I'll upload them and post them here. [IMG] I made two for these psychedelic rock compilations I made, and I made two fictional Velvet Underground covers. They're not amazing, and I think I could do better work for you, but I'll post 'em anyway. [IMG]

Sure thing. Nice to get to know you, as well.

Ok, these are the Velvet Underground covers that I made:

And here are the psychedelic compilations:

The actual files are much better quality, by the way. I had to downsize them to get them on here. The text looks fuzzy here, but when printed from the actual files, it looks really crisp.

I like your stuff alot, pretty GROOVY there Sam, and I will show Larry this weekend.
We're going to try to finish the studio by the spring and will resume recording.
The Psychedelic Garden cover is cool how it looks like plant greenery fuzzed in the background.
And I love the second one with the images superimposed over the others.

The songs we do are all pretty much in the Blues genre, so something along those lines..
As for payment, if no money is exchanged then I will send you a painting..
I love to barter, but I appreciate your offer.
i will keep in touch and always see you around here, and heck wez both in Oh.

Read a good book or do some artwork. It will make you feel more refreshed.

Thanks. All of the images on the psychedelic compilations were photos that I took in my backyard and edited in Photoshop. :)

Ok, sure. I'll try to think of something and maybe look at some blues album covers.

Haha, ok, if you insist. :) Eh, if you like what I create, then we could work something out.

Hahahaha, true, we're both in Ohio. :p However, I don't think we're that close. Where are you again? I'm between Akron and Canton.

Wanted to add that so to keep the original thread going....I'm always hijacking..

Hmm, I'm not sure where that is. Haha, I don't know anything about Ohio. :D

    Yeah, me too. :&

Ok, InTheFlesh, try going to a museum or exhibit. That's always fun. You could see a movie, too, but I don't know if anything good is playing.

    Sam, I love your work.
If you don't mind me asking, on the one that says "Lucifer Sam" and has your pic, how did you make that background?

Oh, and I could tell right off the bat that the marker drawing was from 'The Psychedelic Sounds Of..." It looks great.

We get alot of dvd's, cd's and books for FREE. Then if I really like them I will order off of Half.com....

I just got and old copy of The teachings of Don Juan, for Larry for 75 cents plus shipping.

Haha, crap, I don't know. :p Well, I know I started off with simply drawing some random colors around. Then, I used one of the blurring techniques and some other technique that kind of "swirled" them around. Haha, sorry, that's the best I can do. :D

Heh, thanks. Have you ever heard the album? I think it's great.

Cool. If you make anything, you should post it here. :)

Hey hey, if you're gonna look for a book, look high and low for 'Last Hours of the Ancient Sunlight' by Thom Hartmann. EVERYONE needs to read that book.

Lucifer I like the 4th one down in post #20. How did you do that in Photoshop. Looks like the radial blur is involved at the very least. Reminds me of the cover of a Creedence EP my Dad has (Proud Mary I think). Ahh, memories...

Yes, now that I think of it, it was the radial blur. I used it on the one above it, too. You can switch between a spiral blur and that one on the fourth one down.

Yeah, it's "The Fate of the world etc etc", the one written/updated in 2003. He wrote the original in 1998, but I'm guessing its outdated.

its about the fate of the world and what we can do before its too late :p

Actually, thats exactly what its about. All top scientists predict that we will run out of the resevoirs of drinking water sometime around 2025, and oil will be gone shortly after that. When the oil goes, the planet will only be able to hold 1 billion or so people. That's leaving 5 billion to starve....and theres much, much more. If ya want, I could send it to ya sometime soon :)
