Electric Company was pretty good. Irene Cara launched her career from it.

How small, when I was little there were only 3 channels. ABC, NBC and CBS. Whatever was on was our favorites, it's all we knew. It's all we had in Dallas 1950's. Walt Disney's Disneyland was kickin', Owsweld Rabbitt was a hoot, Popey and Quickdraw Macgra gave ya a kick and the Ed Sullivan Show was hot. The Willie Nelson Show was Jammin' as was Porter Wagoner and Dolly Parton. How could I pick a favorite out of that wowsome list, :p

Ed Sullivan always had the top music groups. George Carlen and Richard Pryor used to be on his show too and were always good. :)

I just got a DVD of the 4 complete Ed Sullivan shows that had the Beatles on...with commercials.
I forgot about Uncle Walt D. A family show everyone wathced on Sundays I think.
Uncle Milt., Red Skelton, Jack Benny, Arthur Godfree, how about Grucho Marx?!!! Twilight Zone, Superman, Rin Tin Tin...

    We1,
There was another rocket show, somebody and the Space Cadets maybe...
What was the show about the Indian (from India) kid that started with the big fat guy with the funny voice..geez what was his name...played in alot of westerns....anyway he'd read from a book, then the show would start.

The Mark of Zorro, Ozzie and Harriet..too bad about Rickie ya know.

    mimosa,
They were playing old Jack Lalane shows here recently. The organ would be going and he'd have his chair..doing his stuff. You know he does juicer commericals now?

We had 4 stations in Pittsburgh, as public TV started there..sometimes we could pull in Stuebenville, Ohio too.

Hey remember sign off and sign on? The old flag'd be waving and they'd play the national Anthem...then we'd get up early on Saturday, watch a test pattern for half an hour, then The Farm Report so we knew the price of eggs, then RFD #7, which showed ya how to ride a tractor without killing yourself...then cartoons of dancing mice that went squeek!!! Then the good stuff like Mighty Mouse, Looney Tunes an junk like that.

Oh yeah, Ed Sullivan...I remember being a very little girl (bout5-6, I think), and seeing the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan show...well, I was totally into the excitement of it all, and screamed my little lungs out in front of the TV set...My parents were quite displeased with this (smile!), and tried to get me to stop, but I was so in the moment, and so in puppy love with Ringo and Paul...I just lived to see the Beatles on old Ed's show...much to the dismay of my parents' ear drums!!

    DARK SHADOWS was KICK-ASS!!!!!
    I adored Laugh-In.
    And Hulabaloo was cool.

I got to stay up late and watch the Beverly Hillbillies...which I still love.

The Flintstones were on at 7pm on Fridays in Norfolk.
    And I LOVED to "sing-along-with-Mitch.

Almost every testosterone laden 14 year old male I knew in 1964-65 was watching My Living Doll. Julie was also famous for her 1966 role as the original Catwomen on the Batman TV show.

Wild Wild West, Batman (in COLOR!) and Petticoat Junction. I also loved The Beverly Hillbillies. The last few seasons were very hip:

Police officer in public park: "What are you doing here, ma'am?"

Granny: "I'm gonna smoke some crawdad... but first I have to get my pot!"

Anyone remember Lanecelot Link and the Evolution Revolution? It was a chimp who talked like Humphrey Bogart and he had a girlfriend with a high pitched voice. The bad guy was another chimp who wore a monacle. At the end, the chimps would play in a rock band.

They would show clips of these chimps as part of another cartoon variety show but I can't remember which one. :)

    Hey Teepi,

I forgot that one! "My Living Doll" LOL
Hey, didn't Bob Cummings also have an older show where he had this car that turned into an airplane? This was a real car/plane. The wings were towed behind as a trailor, I believe, and the car had a prop on the back of the roof. He'd pull over, convert, and take off. I think I remember that.....

And Julie Newmar...I'm walking through the mall 'bout 10 years ago and I pass this chick going the other way an I said to my wife, "Did that chick look like Catwomen?" Nah, we deceided, not here in ole bum F. She's a movie star.

Turns out she was signing Autographs for something..I think the first new Batman movie was out so she was trying to make some bucks. I noticed she was tall and getting a little older....

HA..I was stretching it with "Living Doll' I was very young.
And I do remember "Love that Bob" with Bob Cummings...but I can't remember a plane/car.

About 10 years ago there was a movie out something like "Too Wong Foo...Thanks, Julie Newmar" very hip with the gay crowd...and yes I went to see it.
So maybe thats why you were seeing her around.

Oh, Lancelot Link, the top agent for A.P.E..Agency to Prevent Evil.
His side kick was Marta Hairi.
    Commander Darwin.
Psychedelic Evolution Revolution was the band they played in and they released an album.

Remember "My Mother the Car"??? Dorky.
Dick Van Dykes brother Jerry was the guy.

Yes, I watched quite a bit of TV when I was younger...smoked pot, zoned out on the boob tube.

I never liked that guys name on Mr. Rogers, Mr. McFeely, wtf?

Scoobie Doo, I think we all know why Shaggie and Scoobie always had the munchies and seemed confused.........as a kid, it went right over my head.
I was a huge Speed Racer fan.
and Huckleberry Finn with Jody Foster as Becky Thatcher, oh I used to want her in the worst way.....she was the benchmark I measured my elementary school girlfriends against.
Zoom, we used to watch that in class every morning in grade two....tv for school.....those were the days.

Yeah, I liked those dudes. And, like, they were always bone thin, as if they were on uppers or something.

One time they were in a dense fog and cutting donuts out of the fog with their fingers and eating them. "Some fun, huh Scoob?" :)
