What I meant was - for e.g - VH have been around since 1972. What made 1979 so special for them? I constantly hear about VH etc. But not so much about other well known 'acts' like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p1LeXdP9lcM"]This Mortal Coil - Song To The Siren (1983) HD - YouTube (who actually started in 1979) You know, variety being the spice of life etc...
It was a great year for me. I finished grade 13 and was starting University. I bought my first car. Spent the summer having a blast.
sounds like it was a great year for everyone. then a few years later, i came around and ruined everything.
They weren't signed until 77 It was their first headline tour. They had a great impact on the pop/rock world. 's what I meant by significant. They weren't even really my cup of tea at the time... but don't you dare bad mouth 'The wall' :biker: lol... I know you wouldn't disparage one of the greatest albums, by one of the greatest bands, much less one comprised of your own countrymen, would you?... Never heard of them. They definitely weren't being played on mainstream radio stations in the US in 79.
When I read the title of this thread, the first thing I thought about was I was OUT OF THE TWILIGHT ZONE (thank you cheezus!) and the weed was awesome - and affordable. I didn't have the cool car though...I had the ugliest car on the east coast, but she ran like a champ! (until I cracked the block...'74 pinto, yellow with black primer...think bumble bee)
Had my first apartment; drove a 1965 Mustang; boyfriends a plenty; clubbing; lots of drugs; first DUI; first vacation without my parents (Daytona Beach)... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8UGPp3yPe1s"]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8UGPp3yPe1s
Though I remember complaining then about 50$ oz's when pretty much all through high school it was 30-35$.. had no idea how lucky we were! By '81/82 or so all that wonderful Colombian pot was gone, paraquat-ed into extinction, never to be seen again. Such a beautiful taste and buzz it was...:sifone: Hey those cars were fun to drive, some had pretty hot little 4 cylinder motors too!:auto:
My very favorite smoke of all time will always and forever be Columbian Gold...sweet sweet taste with excellent lasting buzz. :2thumbsup: I also remember getting all TORE UP when the price went from $35-$40 to $50! And really, I still drove that little pinto - with a cracked block - after I got another car that had major problems almost immediately after I got it...can't remember what I got...a Lemans maybe but it wasn't worth a shit. yeah, after posting that, I actually felt sorta guilty for putting her down...she was ugly, but she kept going and going. (need an energizer bunny smilie here) (traded both of those cars for a Monte Carlo)
