aww thanks. umm well i grew up in a really liberal house. my parents were too young to be 60s hippies but they were still hippies. i always dressed my own way, loved peasant skirts/shirts and i am kind of laid back, although i can be a little hyper and spontaneous at times. i do like mind altering substances, to expand my mind heh. i love music, its like my favorite thing in the whole world. the doors, the beatles, jimi hendrix, recent stuff like dave matthews band and three doors down, muse...a lot of stuff. id listen to pretty much anything. i love nature, especially lilacs and lilies and trees. lol i dont know what else to say i think im a pretty cheerful and friendly person overall.

 

...my hippie name is windy, the name I use on this forum. Somebody christened me with it after a song by the Association back in the '60s
His name was Ralph. We were street people and we were going to run away and live happily ever after...on a commune

hmmm im stuck between ruby tuesday and serendipity. harmony sounds nice too but is probably used a lot. hmm i need something that just hits me and i go "thats it!"

my friends have never been able to make a nickname for me. my name is hannah, and all they come up with is hannah banana, and now they call me hannah montana because of her new popularity. iiicckk i have a friend that calls me honey sometimes but thats about it. lol i like the maternal tone mama jode's name has. thats cool. haha

Well, the name really seemed to suit as they all would call me that and sometimes just Mama. I was the nurturer of the group... and then I was the first to have children... So I guess I do have a hippie name, I just didn't think it was because it did have a portion of my proper name in it.

I haven't found my hippie name yet, but I'm sure it will come to me eventually.

30 years ago we changed names like you change socks.it was part of the fun of being out of law.no law or rules but of our own making,otherwise known as outlaw hippies.today my friends still call me Joe.

Chive, a friend of mine was slightly tipsy and happy and she figured that name. Lots of my friends have been named after food for shits and giggles. But I also love the herb, it smells nice and makes food extra tasty
But i have nothing spiritual really.. id like to tho,

 

I actually only recently found a hippy name. i had a list of ones i liked:
Burgandy or Violet Skye?
Crystal Rain?
Moon Dance?
Summer Solstice?
Sunny River?
Misty Spring?
Callista Harmony?
Golden Meadow?
Patient Unity?

and i sent it out to a bunch of close friends and none of them agreed. really there was only two people that would influence my choice a lot and niether of them would respond! :banghead: so after a while one told me Callista Harmony. im a singer. i sing constantly and callista harmony means beautiful harmony. she thought that fit me well. i liked it and was about to choose that one when i got this message from tht other important person:

"i thought Sunny River sounded most like you because they are 2 things (sun and river) that are so opposite and sorta nonrelated at the same time, but put 2gether creating beauty. which is like ur personality"

Aawwwww!!!! :hurray: so that is my hippy name. i am sunny river. living breathing oxymoron. lol.

 

everyone has always called me ziggy. no idea why, but it just stuck.
