LOL that thing would bring down a grizzly...

I prefer a hammock actually. Hennessy Hammocks make some really really nice set ups. Bonus points because you dont have to worry about rocks or roots.

We camp in a tent and love it! We just got a brand new tent for Christmas and I am so excited to break it in this summer!

A shelter made of branches grass and maybe even sod. Hutches usually are the best and easiest accomadation. Aside from that I have my tent the gnome dome.

yup-my dog was half coyote, and she wouldn't go near my dad's rifle, and it would just be sitting on the stair steps. but the smell of it scared her.
sadly, i've only camped in a tent. but i have spent the night on my deck before, and woke up soaked in dew!

I love to sleep in tents, and under the sky, but once i went with my friends to eastern oregon, and we slept in a teepee, that was really cool....

I use a Swag, which is canvas wrapped around a matress and a sleeping bag, plus a tent if it is raining too hard.

    Love it under the stars.

I've seen those, it's kind of what we call a bivy. They're expensive but I'd love to try one.

Well I love camping no matter what, but I've got to say theres nothing like a few friends zipping two or three sleeping bags together and cuddling under the stars, unless it rains haha, but usually a nice tent is good 8)

Well if'n I'm in the wilderness. I prefer under the stars with a fedora over my face. I love to gaze up into the heavens and see Pleiades, Orion, and the Bears. When I used to sail it was in my sailboat.[IMG]

Nice boat, Fedora. I'm looking for a small, used cruiser right now myself.

She was a sweety, Zoomie. Held a straight line in the water, too. She is a 22' Catalina. I sold her about a month ago, just didn't have time to sail anymore and the place we had her docked closed shop and she was living in my backyard. Not a good place for a boat of her calaber. Great place to spend the night; listening to the halyards clank and sailing on the first breeze of morning. Hope you find the right match for yourself. But if I bought another boat it would be one just like her. Our friends had a 16' Compac and she could not hold a straight line in the water. Miracle's retractable keel gave her good water depth and made her fastest on race day. She could sleep 5 people so it was very comfortable for my wife, dog, and I. Peace be with you!!! [IMG]

My GF isn't way into the under the stars deal,so lately I've been in tents. If I'm on my own, I'll usually pitch my tent and sleep outside. That way I can retreat if it gets wet.

    Peace
