None. I don't find the characters on any show interesting or compelling in any way, and the occasional funny joke that might be told isn't worth the investment in time.

I watched the first few seasons of the Simpsons, and I watched the Tonight Show a little bit back when Leno was the host.

Now I just watch 1 NFL game a week during the season, and a little PBS

office and scrubs are both great examples. both of them started out great, but had turned so shitty by the end that watching the last couple seasons is basically torture.

this happens with most shows that last more than 3 or 4 seasons.

I still haven't seen the last season of Scrubs. I know it's basically an entirely different show, so I'm iffy about it. Even season 8 was lame. JD wasn't in half the episodes. Scrubs was a great, but I agree...it was a train wreck at the end

To me it is nothing about not wanting it to end, it is more about wondering who suffered a delirious moment in their disordered brain and dreamed it up in the first place.
Yes, I am talking about 'Big Brother', the biggest pile of drivel to have ever graced the screens of UK television for 2 hours or more 7 days a week on one of our channels
Am I alone in my views.????????????????????????.

Good, well-made and series of 3 seasons are normally good enough to stand the test of time
When the Re-visiting, Re-vamping and Re-introducing characters to put a fresh slant on things and/or to gain a new audience rarely works.
On the other hand, series that had longevity and seen the cast/characters develop gradually gives the viewer a sense of 'belonging' and familiarity and a better form of entertainment.
(Like them or not) Buffy, Friends, - for instance, there is a great danger of spoiling a legacy , ... methinks

I actually thought The Office was pretty good through the end. The later seasons werent comparable to the first few seasons but they were still enjoyable. The Office is one of the few shows i can watch from beginning to end over and over

I can think of so many other shows that really jumped the shark and I dont want to watch them again despite the first few seasons being really good..which is actually the exact opposite of the topic of this thread so I guess I wont list them

yeah, i suppose it didn't jump the shark as severely as most long running shows. it just went far downhill by the standards of the first few seasons.

Anyone think Happy Days may have jumped the shark?

It's unintentional! I noticed it was happening earlier with noserider and I was thinking 'Damn, I hope she doesn't think I'm fucking stalking her'

Truth be told, I don't particularly mind bumping into Mel. Happy accidents suit me well enough. Rather be lucky than good any day. ;)

i don't remember? he was kind of a minor character at first, i think. then in season two he donned the leather jacket and replaced richie as the star of the show, and that's when it started to go downhill.

at least that's how i remember it. haven't seen an episode in probably over 20 years.
