Now, I watch the news and I'm sure so do a lot of you. I was horrified about that insident in Virginia at that tech school. 32 ######## students shot by an armed man for no reason, what the #### is up with the universal karma!?

The Americans have always had a fairly lax law about guns, you can go buy one even if you have a bad history with them. So this guy got up one day and thought "Hey, I feel like a bit of student geneside today". I think after this and many other shootings at collages over the last couple of decades America needs to face up to the truth and lay down some tough, new laws because the 'land of the free' at the moment is the land of the insecure and vulnerable!

yes you would think so but what exactly has this to do with the uk??
I mean in all honesty ?
Like the USA should confine its "culture and wars to within its own borders. If I have to suffer the shite coming out of the USA they can suffer my input when I tell them what a load of shite they are infecting the world with.

why? is it so important that we need to discuss some trivial event in some country that hasnt even reached the status of being civilised? What I think is that in a land of savages, savagery occurs

I agree the USA is a shit hole, we have a corrupt government trying to enslave the world, horrible crime, increasing poverty, imperialistic foreign policy.........I could go on, but i'm tired..........so tired of having my rights subverted.......first by my own government, now we've got people cross the pond who regularly bash the fuck out of common Americans who have nothing to do with any of it, putting in their 2 cents to take away even more rights, we got more important issues than crime right now..........if anything you should be bitching about the fact that my government is actively trying to control your government, I realize you guys don't understand why it's so important to us, and you don't have to......but please don't contribute to the problem.

Sure, and I support your right to express your opinions, I think it's great you can still do that, use it up while it's still here, won't be long till the thought police come. I was just expressing IMHO I personally wish that Britons would stop it with the opinions on our right to bear arms, it's simply adding to our problems over here.......I should have been more clear.

wow, that's rich when it comes to talking about America ... land of butting their noses into everyone else's country and bombing them if they don't agree.

as far as gun control, the States needs gun control badly!!! I've known too many people to have gun violence near them (luckily never known someone personally that was a victim themselves). I've seen enough guns in my lifetime, personally. They are vile and well after this incident in the VA it just goes to show how bizarre the thinking is in America that more people are pushing for gun laws NOT to be changed.

I didn't live in an horrible area back home, though the murder rate in Rochester was higher per capita than New York City, but except for certain areas, there weren't many places I felt unsafe going. But, the fact of the matter is in a non-major city the murder rate was higher (per capita) than NYC!!! And that wasn't even mass-murder like what just occurred in VA. Even though I didn't live in the ghetto on any given night (and sometimes during the day) you'd hear the distinctive sounds of gunfire in the background. In the years now I've been in England I've heard that same noise 1x. It used to be a nightly occurrance back home. :(

It makes me sad that people are so keen and vehement in keeping such dangerous weapons about. This isn't the first time things like this have happened in the States, it's just the latest in a series of killings/shootings.

I mean, you can buy guns at Wal-Mart for fuck sake. That would be like walking into Tescos or Asda (and Asda is part of the Wal-Mart family) and buying a shotgun, pistol, or related ammo. Pretty fucked up if you ask me, even if there are "waiting" periods.

You can have a severe mental illness and still buy a gun in the States. It's only if the court has said you are mentally deranged can you not purchase a weapon.

    It's all messed up.

You may not, but ALOT of Brits do.
I don't know what your personal positions are but alot of Brits are calling for a moratorium on weapon sales in the US......this is an attack on our rights, i'm sure you know about all the other rights we've lost so I won't go into that. Our "government" has wanted to ban firearms for a long time now and we've been fighting tooth and nail to keep them, the added opposition from Europe is only enabling and benefiting the cause of our "government". Our constitution is becoming more and more fragile all the time, and chipping away at it like this makes it all more likely that it will crumble........that is our last defense to complete tyranny (and we're very close as it is)
Their is a huge difference between crime enacted by one individual and a criminal network such as the US government........circumstances created by our overlords contribute to our violent crime rate exponentially, this must be dealt with above all else.
I didn't think I was telling you any new information, I was simply suggesting something that IMHO, is worthy of your opinion and effort.

this is our corrupt government, not our people, get it right.

Cultural differences are vast, you need to take that into account, personal liberty trumps everything in the US.

.........and your under the impression that firearms involved in crime are obtained legally??

this is all your personal feelings and opinion, unfortunately for your position, very few people agree with you outside of a handful of the EU.

    this is true.
