What the fuck is a hipster?

To be a "hipster" is to be purposefully different. Hipsters dont like the popular music. They dont dress in the latest fashions. Usually they are very "Green" and have a penchant for old school bicycles. They listen to "Indi" music. I can see why one would confuse them with "hippies" only because the name sounds similar. They do have the nonconformist thing in common with hippies though.
