thats good to hear. i hope he gets something out of his dog situation the last i read said they are unsure if they are going to press charges. idk how that would be its pretty easy to see what you should do. the only problem with that is police get away with everything and its hard to file legal action against the government.
I wouldn't give a shit, so long as the paramedics rocked up... Is there any reason why people can't solve that themselves? oh yeah the police They have every say in where they go and what they do, there's always a choice.
welcome to the city i have been living in the same police handed me over to county sheriff so that i could be arrested (weed is decriminalized in columbia)
you've obviously never been in a situation where you need more than a parametic. try getting in an auto accident sometime. it's a real rockin experience. because your average person wouldn't risk their life to bust a dog fighting ring. animal control doesn't even get involved due to the risk of life. this is the real world and not everybody can grow flowers and be a hippy for a living. :xmastree:
He clearly wasn't saying that, he was just pointing out you made an awful point. You said they have no say in where they are sent to work. What the fuck are you talking about, it is their choice to be a member of SWAT and take part in drug busts. No one is forcing them to do shit.
i know, im just messing around with dude. i just think its silly that people say how much they hate all pigs, yet the pigs are out there doing a lot to protect them. (all faults aside. nobody is perfect, cop, civilian, judge..)
That's a pity, this thread does need a counter argument for it to be at all interesting, an i was glad to see some one (you) posted one. This really is the crux of the argument. But i would like to make the point, that given that police do protect us, it is still right and justified to be outraged with them when they do terrible things. It is sort of like saying that what our army does (in my case the Australian army but this point is applicable where ever one lives) is always justified because we need an army. Which is not the case, a nation can have a down right evil* military force and the fact the country needs such a force does not justify its existence in an evil form. The same can be said for the police, just because a country needs a police force, it does not justify everything and anything that police force does nor does it justify the police in its current form, if that form contains immoral actions and protocol. Or if one bully teases me and takes my money at school, but he stops another bully from beating me up, does that justify his actions in teasing me? Are his actions in beating the other bully up justified if it is only done so he can get paid with my lunch money? *Evil, in the context i have used it is deliberately vague in order to avoid compounding the discussion with an argument about what is right and wrong for an army to do.
hate when those motherfuckers show up right in the middle of my flipping trip attack < which was quiet , at 230am outside MYyyyyyyy house.
so you equate breaking the law and getting arrested with being picked on by a bully? please elaborate. im having a hard time drawing a connection between knowingly breaking a law and being the victim of abuse.

No, I am equating the police making a mistake and hurting innocent people with the actions of a bully, although obviously the former is more extreme. In relation to the point made about police protecting society, my point was about the trade off between being protected by one group but allowing them to commit their own crimes because of that protection. That was my analogy with a bully who protects a person at that persons expense.
Speaking of needing the police for murder investigations, what happens when the police murder someone? Some here may recall the Danziger bridge incident after Kartrina in 2005 where the police shot and killed two innocent people and shot a number of other people on the bridge. The media initially reported that the people on the bridge were terrorists shooting at the police. The police concocted their own story. Officer Lehrmann tried to cover up the incident by manipulating and planting evidence. The prosecutors at the state level botched the case against the police by using evidence illegally. However, two of the cops involved in the shooting pleaded guilty in February and March to conspiracy and obstruction of justice during a federal investigation. Lehrmann, who pleaded guilty this March, left the police force in 2006 and was hired by the U.S.Immigration and Customs Enforcement as a special agent. This event is a good example of how screwed up things can become in the police department and the justice system. http://topics.cnn.com/topics/danziger_bridge .
I'm sure you've all heard of Kathryn Johnston.......the 92 year-old woman who was killed in her own home by ATL police: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kathryn_Johnston_shooting
People assume a raid was justified if a warrant was issued, which isn't always the case. From the Wiki article: "The federal probe into the police department revealed that Atlanta police routinely lied to obtain search warrants, including often falsifying affidavits.[25] The police sergeant in charge of the narcotics unit also pleaded guilty to charges surrounding the shooting, and another officer admitted to extortion.[3][6] Tesler's attorney, William McKenney, said that planting drugs and lying to obtain search warrants is routine in the police department.[26]" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kathryn_Johnston_shooting .
