Seems to me replicators would solve the pollution problem. When you want something you replicate it. When you're done with it you put the trash back into the replicator to disintegrate it. No need to recycle, it's the ultimate form of recycling! There would still be some litter though, if some people these days are too lazy to throw their trash into a trash can, there will be those in the future too lazy to throw it into a disintegrater.

How many people would this put out of work? Economy gone overnight. Yes, it is the absolute problem solver to the worlds future but if it just got invented this week, the next few hundred years the world would kill itself. No jobs, no industry. How would human kind advance after?
