I just thought of some more songs that drive me insane.. Lamb Lies Down On Broadway - Genesis I Want You to Want Me - Cheap Trick that "Angel is a centerfold" song Pink Houses - John Mellencamp
while I am the least likely person to listen to radio (give me my live shows any day) I do hear it at work. I loathe all hick-pop (get it Osiris?). THe song that drives me craziest , and I 've seen the writer perform it live at least twice, is "Baton Rouge," a song COVEREd by "Girth" Brooks on In Pieces (how do I know? A friend who was trying to open my eyes to decent pop songwriters... I turned him on to the jam band community). Anything used in a commerical 10 or more years after release qualifies. And god love Ray wiley Hubbard... but did he HAVE to write "Muskrat Love?"
Point made...thanks, TM. But I do like Springsteen.....his "Meeting Across The River" is magnificent....as is "Secret Garden"..... And then there is William Hung. If I were that kind of hung, I'd hang.....
Point made? I wasn't being sarcastic, I was being genuine. I really never knew that song wasn't patriotic. Sorry if it came off that way lol. I hate William Hung too, but not him in general, mostly the cruel trick played on him in which the American public made him think he was a great singer.
Aww, I love the Black Eyed Peas, they're great. But I agree on the others. Avril Lavigne is a snobby little girl posing as a punk rocker, and Limp Bizkit and that dickhead Fred Durst butchered Behind Blue Eyes one of my fav The Who songs. And don't even get me started on that stupid fucking video. Durst and Kid Rock are two shithead rocker wannabes who wish they were rock and roll hall of famers. Bleck!
Hick-pop! brilliant! Now we can differentiate the real oldschool country from the nashville boardroom formula! Give 1000 slag points to drumminmama! Of all the Hick-pop i have ever heard, their is one song they used to play in my adoloescence, whence i was forced to ride in another's car from time to time... i think it was called... ow, this hurts, can i bear to remember... AHHHHOWWWWCH! yea, chattahoochie. if i ever again have to bear the brunt of that attack, please, fuckinshootme! i think i just had an aneurism... much love
What I hate about Avril Lavigne is that her new single is identical to her debut hit, 'Complicated'. She hasn't bothered to change a single chord. You can practically sing the whole of 'Complicated' along with the new song and it fits perfectly. What makes me mad is people who buy it thinking: "Wow, what an original song. Never heard this before anywhere!" If it was better than Complicated, it may not be too bad, but Complicated was about 100 times better. I actually liked it. I won't even mention that other song she did. Such evil should never be spoken of.
You guys are being so negative about such an amazing thing(music). Is there anything you actually do like? Oh and listen to the original version of behind blue eyes....its a tune!
I hate She Likes Me for Me by Blessid Union of Souls, and that Abercrombie & Fitch song by LFO with a passion. Also, any of that ultrapatriotic, I'm gonna kick your ass country music that came out after the war began.
but she is a really amazing song writer but the recording company wont really let her use the songs that she wrote...they let her use a couple but they never mad em' singles
i dont like Sweet Home Alabama....by lynard skynard i like some of there other stuff just not that song
and you like every piece by every artist ever wrote?out of those probably millions you like them all? I don't think so. by the way the whos' version sucks just as bad. and I think you may be retarded. have that checked
I just remembered another song I detest, because it came on the radio again this morning. It's 'Wonderful Tonight' by Eric Clapton. The lyrics and music are both cheesy and banal. The fact that it's so incredibly overplayed makes it just grating. I don't know how he went from Cream to stuff like that.
