Hmm... I'm not sure, it might be from a Dicks Picks compiliation. I looked up my file of it and it's from "3-21-84 Keystone, Berkeley, CA." I'm pretty fond of the cover myself, it's very soothing and is about 12 minutes long.
Bah, music can enrich any experience, death shouldn't have to be an exception... personally I'd want to hear one last song since I wouldn't be able to hear any ever again.
Well it'd be nice if I could die as an old man in bed with my family at my side with the Londonderry Air playing. That'd be fitting.
Although this may sound a little twisted, my song of choice would have to be Sympathy for the Devil by the Stones... only because that was the very first song I learned. I was two years old singing "....please to meet you, won't you guess my name? Oh, what's puzzlin' you is the nature of my GAAAAAME...". I even learned this song before I learned the alphabet!! I just think it might be cool to be the first and last song I hear...
I think I'd want to hear something short, sweet, and wacky such as Syd Barrett's "Effervescing Elephant" or The Beatles' "Her Majesty". Might as well not let it drag on with some emotional song. I'd like to go out smiling.
I definantley need to hear that cover, Death Don't Have No mercy AWESOME AWESOME CHOICE.... and as for death being scarey, at a young age it is, but once you're older and you've taken your fair share from this world, i think Death, (A peaceful one, in a bed, or rather lying down in some soft grass [not the itchy kind either] with just the right amount of sun, while the sun is kinda low and dusk is setting in, lye there as if to take a nap close your eyes, your chosen music begins to play, and as the music progresses you slowly slip into an even more peaceful sleep, all this while with a huge grin on your face, then you're soul is free from this world) That would be a beatiful thing...i can only hope thats how it will happen
"We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl, year after year, running over the same old ground, what have we found, the same old fear, wish you were here." Pink Floyd- Wish You Were Here
I would like to hear either "Tears In Heaven" by Eric Clapton or "Black Muddy River" by Grateful Dead while halucinating and seeing Jerry Garcia playing.
Us and Them. The first time I heard this was my second time high, and well. . .I cried. Dont' laugh at me you bastard. So to hear this song on top of dying would be like an emotional orgasm.
Wish You Were Here and Us and Them Are both fine choices and i cried when i heard Us And Them, and i wasn't high
25 or 6 to 4 - Chicago. It's hard to describe such a great song. I think the solo is one of the best (if you think the solo in Freebird is the best you'd like to know that it's not a solo).
yeah why didn't anyone say that,....that is an awesome song...way way awesome wait didn't you just say that, ...mhmmmm
I was going to, but then I reconsidered. I don't think I'd want to hear it as I died, even though it is one of my favorite recordings of all time.
