I don't mean sexually. I don't mean to even label it in any way. You meet lots of people...what is it that make you decide to talk to one person over the next? What is it about them that makes you want to know them?

Do they laugh at my jokes? Do I laugh at theirs? Seriously, if I have to explain what I am trying to say--too much work!
I like to talk, I don't deny that fact. If it seems like the conversation just started, yet it is 4 hours later; there is something to that. Also, how they treat others. If they are rude, cocky--next!

On the short term? They just have to be up for a good time (even if it just as simple as an exchange of words) and be entertaining or interesting. Usually their facial expressions give me enough info, unless someone is really shy, insecure or... posing. Sometimes posers are a lot of fun too though, especially when it is a temporarily encounter (and of course when they happen to pose in a style you just happen to have some attraction to). Shy or insecure people, I don't want to condemn them too much, but when they are overly shy or insecure, especially on the short term, I don't bother with them for a good time, even if I might be attracted or can relate to them as a person. Just because they don't seem like a good time to me untill they get comfortable (usually takes awhile). On the long term I have no problem getting along with shy or insecure people at all, but I take it this thread is about initial attraction.

The attraction he makes himself. Meaning - if I see a group of people crowding around one guy, I'll want to see what's so special about him, or in other words - what he's doing or how he's behaving that makes him be that "attractive".

I'm kinda shy so I usually end up befriending people more outgoing than me by default. If someone is friendly and outgoing towards me this is usually enough to strike up a casual friendship.

for me to really develop a deeper friendship the person has to have some depth and intelligence as well as a wicked sense of humor and a well developed sense of fun and adventure.

Good answers. I find people more attractive if I think they are intelligent but not arrogant.

I'm not entirely sure. I think there are factors which play a part in if we like someone or not that go deeper than the conscious mind - subtle cues - things like body language, the way they smell, maybe pheromones - stuff which gets processed on some deep mammalian level of the brain.

I generally like it if people are friendly, courteous, ready to have a conversation.

    As opposed to imaginary?
I like people who don't think it is their job to be my friend.

For very casual encounters, a smile is an opening. ( I smile a lot) . I enjoy making comments to strangers and there are always those that will carry on a casual conversation as if

we know each other. Brightens the day, actually. For longer term, openness, honesty, loyalty and a SENSE OF HUMOR for sure.
