What qualities are important to you in a significant other?

someone who is loving, can show me things in life, open my eyes, help me be a better person. I want to evolve with somone, stay in bed with somone all day on a sunday morning and then go for a walk, somone I can watch movies with while munching on grapes or white cheddar flavored popcorn. ergh this just made me realize the guy I'm dating isn't this person...erhmmmmmm that kinda blows but I can't imagine munching popcorn with him, shit.

 

Besides other things, intelligence and humor is all I look for in a significant other.

It may sound absolutely nuts...but I actually made a list a LOOONG time ago about qualities that I would like to have in man. Over the years...I had added and deleted...settling for men who didn't have all of these qualities.

It was only when I stopped looking did I actually find him.

In no particular order:

A good sense of humor (he has to get my jokes and shouldn't be too serious)
Loyalty/Trustworthy
Honesty
Adventurous (I hate guys that just sit around and watch TV all the time)
Open-minded
Compassionate
Passionate (about something..ANYTHING)
Family Oriented (specifically the marriage type and wants to have children)
Outdoorsy (must also care about environmental issues)
Intelligent
Opinionated
A good, efficient communicator
I, of course, must be attracted to them
Kind/Caring/Polite/Friendly (they all kinda come together)
Down-to-Earth


I used to think I was too picky...but he actually does exist...amazingly.

1. A sense of humour that emcompasses some of the things I find funny
2. Intelligence, not so much for drive and accomplishment, but so we can hold a conversation for more than 5 minutes.
3. A sense of charity
4. Can get down and play with kids or dogs
5. Watches cartoons
6. Is strong in my weak areas, so he can help me build myself up
7. Not so settled in life that we won't have goals to accomplish together

 

I never write lists because i think different qualities can be attractive in different people... and theres no perfect man for me.. i can deal with a lot of different traits. im not fussy. but anyway..

I can't really think of anything else. I couldn't ask for a better guy than the one ive got at the moment... I didn't even think guys like him existed

 

Significant Other? lmao. It's been so long since I've had one of those, I've forgotten what the fuss is all about. I did just meet an awesome guy, however. He's funny, writes poetry, has the greatest hair, and eyes you could fall into.
