I really hope it works out. The only reason I worry is because the doctor told me in passing recently that he switched everyone over to the Film Strips because so many people were abusing it (well, isn't that HIS fault for taking in unstable patients...).

I just literally don't know how I would be able to afford taking it if I don't get switched. I am so poor that I am selling off silver coins and stuff that my grandfather gave me as gifts. It makes me so mad that they charge so much for a drug that has been around for 40 years.

I am just really nervous about tomorrow.

EDIT: I am so nervous that I had to resort to taking a Klonopin during the day-time for the first time in months. I also took 3mg of Suboxone. So that combinations should take care of things so I can stay cool and collected for tomorrow's visit.

ETK, I understand what you're saying. Read your reply above. Thats what you tell him. Him saying he switched bacause the Films are harder to abuse is either the truth from someone that doesnt know how addicts really are when it comes to figuring out how to unlock the antiabuse mechanisms found in todays meds or he did it to get kick backs from Reckitt Benckiser the Film makers. Either way, you take with you the proof on the difference in price and the fact he knows you don't abuse your Meds, common sense tells me he will switch you to Subutex. If for some reason he says NO, don't let it stop there, you ask him why. At that point he will have to justfy not switching you......It'll work out man, never worry before worry shows up!!!

Yeah. That's the thing. It all makes logical sense: I never abused opioids via 'alternate' routes of administration ever before, I don't take any drugs (not even alcohol or cigarettes) other than what's prescribed, the price thing, etc.

But I can just tell that he is 'in bed with' the Reckitt company to some degree. It isn't completely obvious but I can tell. In the conversation we had about using the Films, he was all excited about them, saying they were the 'future' of Bupe treatment, and that he would be converting anyone on Subutex to the Suboxone Films. So, I don't know how much one guy (me) can do to overcome the brainwashing by Big Pharma.

And unfortunately, there aren't any other Suboxone Doctors that are anywhere near as good as him anywhere near me. There are a few REALLY shady doctors who also make you pay big bucks for taking pee tests every month in addition to their normal charge. So, the guy I am with is the "best."

I am so poor that I am considering going off of opioids completely if he doesn't switch (I would get one more script filled and go down from that) and get onto a Medical Cannabis program that was recently instituted in Delaware. I don't like Cannabis particularly, but it acts almost identically on the dopamine flow in the Nucleus Accumbens like opioids, and since I take them for depression, it would probably work. NOW that's what I call desperate.

I don't know if that is good or bad haha. Sounds like it would provoke some hard-core anxiety, but correct me if I am wrong.

You have got to push the facts about your financial situation. however, his recourse could be "well you do remember im letting you have these film strips for an unevaluationed purpose" ETK, just tell him how good the stuff works however, you just plain cant afford it. Its just that simple and its why Subutex is made....!

Well, BAD NEWS. I spent a good twenty minutes peacefully arguing my point to the doctor. He actually agreed to everything I said, and said that in a different world he would easily give me the Subutex.

However, he claims that the feds in Delaware have cracked down on the Suboxone doctors so much that they are de-facto forced to not only make you come in every month, but also to only script Suboxone. No exceptions. Even my exception is not sufficient. He said he has been threatened with prosecution by the DEA in the past. He also said that their office is one of the more 'lenient' of those around the region (they don't make me piss test, for example).

On one hand, he claimed empathy for me, but on the other hand he simply REFUSED to compromise. So, I picked up the script and have decided to simply taper of the Suboxone and go from there.

As much as it helps my mental illness, my family can not support it any more and I can't even afford to eat (I have lost 10 pounds in two months) because of the associated costs.

I plan on tapering over one month and simultaneously going up on my Vyvanse and adding a blood-pressure medication to deal with the side-effects of that (I already have high BP from it). I am also looking into alternatives, even including (although I have repeatedly claimed to hate it...) Medical Cannabis. Perhaps there are strains of it that wouldn't make me jittery and anxious. All is worth looking in to.

I just am so disappointed that it had to come to this because of our country's disgusting DEA and Drug War. Doctors are no longer doctors, but simply pawns of the DEA. It leaves me with a bad taste in my mouth about the United States, to say the least. Let's just hope that I don't slip into suicidal depression from going off the Suboxone.

This a just blows me away. How the fuck can Subutex abuse be so rampant. I am calling major bullshit on this. ETK, not that you have the money to fight it but damn bro, I know perscription drug abuse is out of control but to limit you to the one drug that actually helps you get off of opiates lacks so much common sense, just fucking WOW. I really don't know what else to say. We have a generic drug program, Im pretty fucking sure the Generic manufacturers would love to have this story. Shame you like this guy but if it were me Id say, well sorry to do this to ya but Im taking this one to the generic Subutex manufacturers, See what they have to say....!

Oh, I like the guy, but I would have no qualms about fighting such a decision any way I could. Unfortunately, I am penniless, so I could never get a lawyer, and I don't know how to contact the people you speak of. I am still in the 'shock' phase of it.

Bump for 3 and 1/2 RC 30's all at once, 50mg of benedryl, 900mg of Neurontin, 2mg of Kpin, and a bottle of tonic water (quinine). I am nodding fucking hard. I need to temporarily make my pointer bigger because I can't see it. I can't really see shit, there is two of everything and blurred out bad.

Added one more Kpin, few bowls of green, and 50 more mg of Benedryl. I'm done now. I'm nice and straight. :sunny:

I lied... 15 more mg's of oxycodone. Now I am really done, for real.
