I initially felt pretty lousy about the Phantom Menace, and the other two prequels, but now I might be able to get into them.

In general there are certain films that don't do it for me though. I can think of only one example recently. Maybe I'm getting better at picking movies. :)

Who was in that one? I'm trying to remember if I liked it or not. It seems like a whole bunch of movies have "love" in the title. I get them mixed up.

Ok. Maybe I haven't seen it. I looked at the google result and don't recognize the scene depicted for the youtube link. Now I'm curious. lol

Watching films over and over was a way of life for me. I watched one 800 times, but a friend of mine beat my record by watching the same film 2600 times, it took him 6 years. :tired::tired::tired:

I used to do that too. I watched "Go" about 20 times I bet. I've seen a lot of "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas". And I watched the first "Transformers" a whole bunch of times too! :)

But I bet you never watched 'the sound of music' 2600 times.
In case you have not seen my previous thread, the guy in question was the sound and projection engineer at the London Dominion theater during the 6 year run of the film.

So you would not have enjoyed doing my job when I had to watch La Traviata twice a day for 8 months. As you can imagine, being an opera lover, I was in heaven.

I suppose I could enjoy Opera. But not that much! 8 months? Crazy.

    Titanic

I saw it in the theatre once and that was enough. You know the fate of the ship and how it is going to end for lots of people. Also it is very long. I don't think I could watch that again.

I was so surprised it won best picture. I don't want to see a woman having sex with an aqua creature again.

It was the first time that opera had ever really worked on film. Rather than settle for the constraints or the opera house stage, it became a reality. The way that Franco Zeffirelli handled the overture section and preludes to acts 2 and 3 was a masterpiece of cinematography and Teresa Stratas was just perfect in the role of Violetta. In addition. The final act while she was dying was just so much better when the powerful arias could be post synced, allowing her to concentrate on the acting.
Do watch it when you have a couple of hours to spare.

Logan - I found it a depressing finale to it's usually uplifting degree of hope for the future
