I just think that long mature locks are the most beautiful thing ever. I cant wait for mine to grow down to my ass!!!!!! I will them every day to do so. But so far they dont even evenly reach my shoulders. Oh Ive got a long way to go!

To use the bathroom in privacy? :)

Heh, I don't have them but a friend did for years so I may as well explain what he told me.

    1. He was pissed, and let a girl braid his hair, which he liked.
    2. He was fond of not having to hash his hair anymore, the crazy hippy bastard.

What the truck is a Dole Bludger glen lol?

Iv always wanted them since i was super young. my pops used to work with this Caucasian fellow that had super long dreads and i just never stopped loving them.

15 some years later I was kicking around the idea of dreading my long hair, and one night after swimming on lsd in a pool filled with glow sticks my friend looked at my wet hair and was like...... you should get dreads, you look like you have them now and they look good.

    Never been happier since

my first set of locks was something i've wanted for soooo long. just stopped brushing and and started backcombing. had them for 2 years, lived inside a smokers house. i smelled so bad all the time. plus i had bad migraines so i chopped them, and brushed my hair (5 hours of work!). still admired them on others, and knew i would eventualy have them again.
came back from festival 8 in cali, lost my hair brush out there. i had 2 dreads already from about a year ago my boyfriend had put in my hair. decided to stop brushing. no backcombing for me this time. just ripping fatties that i know i would have some issues with further down the road (the fatties of my last set would hurt so much when i had a migraine). my boyfriend has dreadies, and i love touching his, but he get annoyed cuz i was constanting poking around his head. so now i have my own baby dreadies and love watching them lock up, feeling them mature, the fullness of my hair. yup, just loving my hair. my sister is bummed out cuz she is a hairdresser and wanted to play more with my hair, but too bad.
my hair is like my garden.

I was motivated to start dreadlocks because of the lack of motivation to do anything with my hair.

My best friend Ste has had them for around 20 years so he was a huge motivation and influence on me getting them aswell me loving how different every set of dreads are.

I dunno. I think it's mostly the organic beauty. Also, lifestyle decisions.
