poverty is not the sole requirement for medicaid; i think my medical conditions are not severe enough

if i could, i would get prescriptions for antibiotics [dental infections] and, of course, a working pair of prescription eyeglasses [20/200]

hmmm... are you sure? maybe it varies from state to state. I'm in MA, and I think here you just have to be poor to get state sponsored insurance.

here is some info on medicaid elegibility

    https://www.cms.gov/MedicaidEligibility/

I don't know if there are other organizations that do the same, but here is a link to an org that gives out glasses

    http://www.neweyesfortheneedy.org/us/us.html

I think that there are hospitals and community health centers that will give out free or low cost health care. I think some md's will also charge on a sliding scale basis.

If you let me know your state and general area, I can help look on line for such programs

hope you can get some good healthcare soon!

I just checked out your profile and discovered that you care for feral cats. you are totally cool

there might be some orgs out there that would give you some funds to do this

thanks for the links, pretty sure i fall between the cracks on medicaid though [soon be 55 and then maybe] and the glasses program seems to be in a little bit of trouble

don't mind not seeing too much anyways, not hearing would kill me

cats, i get plenty of help from a lady here who was running basically a private shelter - she's the person who set up the feeders way back when - she pays vet bills and buys some of the food and i do the daily grind, trapping, lifting, whatever else

    plus a hell of a lot of adopting . . .

 <<< one of these is me, the other has pointy ears and a tail
