Just to clear things up, I made this thread when I was a diehard Trump supporter. I've since made an 180 on most of my conservative views. The person that started this thread isn't the same person now.

 

Please give us your story about recovering from Trumpism.

Since Ronald Reagan, the Republicans have made American Citizens into over taxed Serfs and subjects , with Citizens United, which was a Republican Creation.
The GOP / Neocon / Oligarchy have proven that Conservatism Failed America, Like Communism Failed The Soviet Union .

All they have left is their fake Patriotism, lies and denial .

They no longer have the numbers to win Elections, that is why they Gerrymander, discriminate people of Color, women, young people and new Americans .

Democracy doesn't work in your favor, when you can earn people's trust or votes .

 

I thought I started a thread awhile ago explaining my journey here. I'll try to find and link it here. But I'll be happy to start another thread. Long story short, I was sheltered and pretty much isolated as a kid, and exposure to different cultures and being busy with life slowly changed my perspective.

 

Here is my story of how I changed my stance.

From diehard Trump supporter to registering as a Democrat

I used to be a Democrat , my guess is that now I am more of a Progressive than a Democrat.

Since the GOP are in total Self Destruction mode, Corporate Dems are almost as bad as Republicans .
Since 1992, the DNC have gone to far to the right to be considered true Democrats .
Since Ronald Reagan, the Guardians of Plutocracy have been out to destroy upward mobility for the poor, by stagnating wages (look at Red States today), trying to stop Young People, People of Color, stop Wonen from voting.
Reagan was out to destroy FDR's New Deal . Reagan began taxing Senior Citizen's Social Security ( that tax persists) just to finance his "No Billion Heir Left Behind Tax cut , I won't bring up his crimes of playing both sides on the War on Drugs and Terror or having Iran hold of the Hostage until after the 1980 Election, the October 1987 Financial Crash or wage stagnation ( minimum wage was $3.35 from 1981to 1993 .

Now the MAGA / GOP want to start a White Supremic Theocratical Kleptocracy only serves the top 8% Anerican Oligarchy .
