What makes one person better than another?

It doesn't surprise me. I might have to give him a chance someday, but I have a lot on my plate right now in regard to books.

 

Most of his cannon is actually pretty bad, but The Sun Also Rises is far and away the best book I've ever read (totally relative statement, I know).

Well first -in order to answer your question,I'd have to accept the basic premise of differing values on individual humans. I don't accept the premise,but I do see the reasons that people entertain the idea that some humans are "better" than others. Money,looks,attainment,and foolish ego are some of the reasons people will self elevate. We're born,we live life and then we're dead. WE think what WE do during our time in this form is all -important and we expect OTHERS to hold each of us- as individuals -as important as we,ourselves do. No one is "better" than anyone else, just born in differant circumstances, attuned to the differing rythms of life which play out self --evidently. Sure ,some can play ball,study,drive,discover amazing ideas,ect, better than others ,but competance & ignorance are two sides of the same coin. Existentially we're sacks of meat without mittens and we're all headed for the same place,brilliant scientist or African waif.

 

I did read the little Cuban boat thriller, now that I think of it. Will take your suggestion into account.
