I know it's because they're crazy.I have to make a short horror film for film class and we are not allowed to use a shitload of gore, so i wanted to create a creepy ass psycho without using too much fake blood.so what makes a person creepy(body language, voice tone ect.)
Just include a guy that mumbles and talks to himself alot, and has a hand puppet or something like that. The mask thing has been done to death, so have him wear a paper bag on his head with a creepy smilie face drawn on it. You're welcome.
This is the stupidest thing ever, the bag dude isn't scary but..... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m7ElJoXR_5g&feature=channel_page
Good idea, maybe she can have a really awkward guy sneak into a hotel room and slash some young girl while she's taking a shower...oh wait. NM. haha
I think psychos are scary because they can look perfectly normal on the surface, but have a monster laying underneath their skin. If someone's just plain crazy and you can tell they are crazy from the first moment, then it's not so scary.
Iv'e seen some movies like that,do you lnow any scary music that hasnt been used for a scary movie already?
Of course you have. You can still show something that has been done from a different perspective. Either way I wasnt suggesting thart as an idea for your movie. I was saying that's what makes psychos so scary. I dont know, nothing comes to mind and it really depends on what you're doing. Something can be scary, but not work with the scene. I hate it when the music feels like it has just been put there, instead of complementing what Im seeing on tv. With that said, I think extremely cheery/happy music would be scary if it's shown while something disturbing is happening and it would make the psycho appear even more psychotic
