Good morning, best machine I ever had. I fear I'm dead before she dies. ~# psrinfo -v Status of processor 0 as of: 04/20/10 07:43:44 Processor has been on-line since 03/12/10 06:12:01. Quad core self built rig with a G-Force 8800 GTX running the graphics app's. Over a gig of RAM I'm a nerd.
Not really. Mister "over a gig of ram" gee, that would make you a nerd five years ago. I'll be up to sixteen in my post burning man upgrade. Water has more thermal mass than air, the thermal efficiency of a water cooling system is higher. I mean I COULD waste fifty more bucks on a bigger power supply to compensate for some kind of whack problem, but I don't need to. btw, my netbook? has over a gig of ram.... OMGZORZ (it can run solidworks...)
has linux (I'm playing with a few different distros to find the one I like best for it, may keep you posted, don't post often here anymore though) and windows seven, I needed seven for work, and needed linux for sanity (matlab runs much faster on it)
Hi Dave, I'm a Unix guy in a windows shop. Sometimes customers dial the wrong number and instead of a windows guy they get me on the phone. Usually they want to tell me about their windows problems. Then I have to explain them that I live in an alternate reality . Sometimes this is really funny. Regards Gyro
ive got a compaq presario c714, this thing as been though hell and back, since dec-07 ive had the screen replaced twice, hdd once, main board, and keyboard replaced. and hp replaced everything without a problem, they even payed for the shipping everytime.
Even cyber guys get STDs  Nah its not that though, just not enough space on my hd, a few general mechanical faults, multiple spillings-of-things-on, droppings, dodgy plug, and it crashes if its left for more than 30 minutes, internet stalls regularly if I have more than two tabs open too. Im impressed with the amount of things its been through to be honest
Well I used to have a piece of shit compaq presario laptop then that died and now I have a hp desktop which I love but I hate windows vista with a passion and I'm stuck with it. But anywho my old lady has a toshiba satelite I think 5500 series, its so kick ass and has a 17" screen. Hopefully after I get my BA degree I can reward myself with a laptop as well.
Two custom desktops. I would only buy a brand if I was getting a laptop - and you don't get too much of a choice not to there =P
