Asatru. More of a lifestyle than a religion. I do blots, but worship isn't my main focus. I try to live in a manner which casts honor upon myself, my family and my Elder Kin(my gods, for those who don't know).
I dont know exactly what I would be called, its a mixture of Druid, Hare Krishna, Christianity(not like you would think tho), Native American beliefs, and my own philosophy.
How do you mix Druidry with Hare Krishna? One sacrified bulls, the other worships them! But as far as what to call it, i think your last three words labeled it all, "my own philosophy" fits it perfectly.
I practice "Kemeticism". I consider Kemeticism a form of Paganism, which is an ancient African (more specifically, Egyptian) reilgion. Basically, followers try to duplicate the practices and ritual of the ancient Egyptians as best as possibly. Hyroglyphics (so sorry if i spelled that wrong), and other ancient texts are used to form a "modern" version of the ancient religion. But I'm no expert on Kemet. I'm just a novice.
I'm a rather eclectic solitary neo-pagan. I've finally met some interesting neo-pagans in my area who are not fluffy bunnies. Thank the Goddess!
Although I am an atheist (a hardcore one at that), I like to class myself as pagan as well. This is mainly due to two reasons: first of all, I'm very much into nature and the earth, she has protected given us life, and as such, if anything should be worshiped, it should be the earth..... but not dancing around like an idiot, doing things that will actully help the earth, such as recycle, etc.. The second reason is because I'm very much a follower of the idea of "do what you will, so long as it hurt none", and a lot of neo-pagans follow this idea. If you want more on what I believe, check out: http://theworldofdan.co.uk/2_faith.html (it's a tiny bit out of date, but is mostly valid).
Pre-Hindu Indus River pagan. I guess that's enough big words. Hey, it's a past life thing. I started out in India and I ended up here with the name "India."
What kind of pagan? What an awesome question! So many people like to lump pagans together into one... well, lump, and just because they heard somewhere that a pentacle is "something evil" that they can classify us as wackos. How wonderful it is that there are so many different kinds of us, and what's more, we don't all have to agree! Religion is something so personal and powerful that I can't even put my own beliefs into words and do them justice. (and don't you hate it when, just because you can't, people try to devalue them?) Guess I'm sort of a patchwork pagan. Love the Earth, love the trees, love the Moon, love the Sun (and all that they imply). Deep inside I'm like "hey Cernunnos! Wanna hang with me and Brigit for a while? She brought a gallon of milk and Buddaha'll be here with some Ostar-o's." Hell, I'm a pagan that believes in Jesus! (I was raised on him for years, he's a hard guy to shake). I believe he existed once; a cool cat, with long hair and sandals, trying to spread some keen ideas, and got persecuted for them. Kinda like Martin Luther King, you know? But I digress. Blessed be, friends Mmmm... Ostar-os...
I'm a Discordian. I guess you could sorta call that a paganism, although I dont worship Eris, or even nescecarily believe in her existance (HAIL ERIS!) If I were a pagan, it would probably be Asatru. The Norse Gods have a special place in my heart, its just that I've never been able to bring myself to worship any being. I'm also a SubGenius, but that's definatly not paganism.
Eclectic Kemetic/Wiccan blend. I work for the Lord and Lady, yes, but my matron goddess is Bast. My heritage has no bearing on this, as She called me into Her service.
I am lerning from water, fire, earth and air. And from all manifestations I percieve. I spent many years studying other techniques like meditation, schamanism, astronomy etc. At one point in life (about 10 years ago) there were no more people or techniques that I followed. Its nature itself, my way to work. Crystals, stars, plants, places, clouds and animals- fire, water, earth and air are my teachers. -seby-
eclectic paganism/gods of my ancestors. so that would be... norse, celtic, egyptian ( i am not egyptian, but if the claim that the irish are descended from scota who people say was a daughter of a pheraoh, then yes, also egyptian.) but i adore the culture of south american and the north american beliefs. so yh, very eclectic. ofcourse there is much more to my beliefs, but its very long blessings xxx xx x
I'm into all kinds of stuff from voodoo to Feng shui, but all in all I put my own philosophy on top of it & do not tend to any one tradition.
Romuve (Lithuanian), myself, but much the same philosophy. For Rob, something I wrote recently as I grieve my mother's passing: Ashes to Ashes We are all pagans, “of the earthâ€, saith the Goddess. For do our bodies not return to the earth, the sea, the sky upon our death? Whether we worship Yahweh, Allah, Odin or Gaia, Whether we are buried under the ground, at sea, Or our earthly vessels given up to the Great Fire, It is the same soil that cradles us as we decompose. It is the same sea that rocks us to eternal sleep, And the same winds that blow our ashes Into the garden to nourish next year’s bud. May we live our lives as we die our deaths.
