Yeah, situational for me too. I dont really like to lead, but when I have to, I'll do it. And I'll do it properly.

 

What does it take to get you to step up, grab the reigns and deliver as a leader?

Seeing someone doing a poor job when I know I could do it better. Or a lack of a leader.
Sometimes you just have to speak up and take the control, no matter how much you hate it.
And you also gotta earn the respect of other people ,and lets face it - if you're always a follower noone's gonna respect you.
Sometimes you just have to prove yourself and being in charge makes it a lot easier.

Well, first of all I would need to recognize that a leader is needed.

Also, I would have to notice that people need help/want someone to look to. then if I felt I was the best man for the job, I would step up.

 

I suppose I'm some type of situational leader. Which is not to say that I can't lead in some situations, only that I won't. When something important is on the line, which is to say something that I desire, I'll do it myself, which is to say I'll lead and you'll follow. Except, of course, when there is a better man for the job.
