I found this at my boyfriends house it looks really cool but i have no clue what it is or even if its a drug haha anyone have an idea?

Its like a crystal in the middle, But also the little pods on the outside are like those tidepods you'd put in the wash and theres a little white liquid in them. you ccan tell one of thems half empty in the bottom left

 

Are you sure it's not glass? It looks like the glass screens sold in head shops.

I've never seen a screen like that, I only ever use metal ones. Do these work well?

 

They work well at keeping your glass pipe tasting like glass and not metal, but they fall out easily. Every time you clear out your bowl you need to be conscious of not losing it. Other than that they're great.

I've seen old timers drop a pebble in their bowl to achieve the same effect.

Putting a metal screen in a glass pipe is blasphemy. I've learned to look for small holes in my glass pieces so that they're not needed.

 

That does look like the shizna. I've used many a pebble, but never in glass. Unless they are heavily resined in, metal screens don't stay in glass any better. Got to try one of those.

 

Yeah I suppose if you never clean your glass they might stay better. But I like to keep clean glass. I pay too much for my herb to not taste it.

 

I really wish that was actually a drug.

I find that my glass pipe gets dirty too fast for me to actually bother keeping it clean constantly. I've also never noticed a difference in taste when I've had the screen in and when I haven't. When I don't have a screen, I just rip off a piece of bud big enough to not fit through the hole, and then put the more finely ground weed on top of that. Works well as long as you don't haul on it too hard.

 

i've tried those glass screens a few times. they work alright, but i always end up throwing them away on accident, or losing them.

they're like 3 bucks or something, so i'd rather use a metal screen. in my perfectly clean, 100% glass bong, the metal screen really doesn't affect the taste. it just helps from seeing green bud in my bong water...which is the bigger blasphemy here!

but i actually have a slider with sort of a built in screen, so i don't use a screen in my bong unless i have some SUPER good weed that is broken up too fine.

 

It may just be in my head, but when I hit a glass pipe with a metal screen I taste pure metal. I don't think it would be near as big an issue with a bong though, as it's filtered through the water.

I don't think I've ever put any kind of screen in bongs or bubblers, only when there's a chance of sucking burning herb down my throat.

Luckily now I have a personal relationship With all of my glassblowers so I have all my pieces custom made. I always ask for tiny holes so I don't have to worry about it.

 

glass bowls they make nowadays dont even need screens. usually the hole is no bigger than a pen tip.

older metal bowls the opening were the circumference of a cigarette, totally needed screens then. or when fashioning something outa socket..
