Looks like I have a real fan (or stalker) on my trail. You are right, though. On the 24th I got rather drunk and drank an entire six-pack of 7% ABV IPA in about 90 minutes. Tonight I have had one 22 oz. bomber and one 12 oz. bottle, and that is it for tonight. I am nicely buzzed at the moment. Sunday night I ended up getting drunk and then consuming an ungodly amount of food which caused me to gain about 10 lbs overnight (mostly water weight, though... lol).
Only 4 Peeps Read Hip Forums... :yikes: ...No Wonder Nobody Ever Replies To My Posts..... :bigcry: Cheers Glen.
Sorry Glen, I didn't mean to quote your post. So, you drank on the 23rd, 24th, and 28th; but on the 27th you typed a bunch of crap about how seldom you drink. Maybe you don't read your own posts.
Actually, this is probably the first time since 2013 that I've drank more than once in a week. It's the summer, so therefore it would make sense I am drinking more. I still drink seldom compared to what I was in the 2000s when I was getting drunk almost every single night. I've drank alcohol maybe 5-6 nights total out of the last 2-3 months.
I know those real punishing hangovers as well of course. But usually I just don't drink that much anymore. And half of the trick of making it very bearable when i do is to always take a few precautions before and actions the next day. Like having the right kind of meal before you really get going :cheers2:, stay in bed long enough next morning (or afternoon ) and then go shower, drink good strong coffee and something to eat (even when you don't feel like it, just take a sandwich to get your guts going again), take a dump (beer poop, needs to get out of you) and get some fresh air. Oh yeah and very important, drink some water in between those liters of beer, before you go to sleep and (because that's when I feel more like drinking more water) a lot of water next day. The worst hangovers are when you do not get a good 'surface' for all those liters of beer. Too less food before or the wrong kind of food (lots of dough-y stuff for example) will make you feel shitty sooner or later
I would say I drink too much, and will at some point have to seriously modify my habits. I have "cut back" to saving the weekends for my heavy drinking, and throughout the week may have a few beers after work. Last night I didn't set out to, but ended up drinking a decent amount of rum and beer and now have a hangover today.. Which really hinders getting things done around the house. I'm the same way as some others have mentioned, in that once I reach a point I will not stop. When I was in college I remember a professor saying that is because the alcohol slows activity in the hippocampus region of the brain, which is responsible for judgment. Anyway, one way I stop is by telling myself I'd rather go home to take a bong hit and watch netflix. Ha.
My boyfriend is a police officer and says that being a policeman around drunks is like going to the meat works and finding out how sausages are made... I've seen him drink maybe 2 drinks since graduating as a police officer last year.
well i'm not like that. i'm not hardcore about anything. i'm just not attracted to a lot of things a lot of other people are. its not a thing about it. its just not there. to the degree that i am repulsed by things that cause harm, i'm fairly evenly repulsed by all of them, and being hardcore, is one of them also. neither more nor less then alky, nor any and all the forms of aggressiveness.
Alcohol would damage your fit shape. Why do you drink as a person who works lifting weight to be in shape? Alcohol is what made me an obese. I used to drink it once a week. I gave up alcohol and started running, the result is I lost a lot of weight. I was also eating sure but alcohol also took part in being obese. Alcohol turns into sugar in your body.
Overconsumption of anything can make you overweight or obese. Alcohol poses no such risk when consumed in moderation. Alcohol alone doesn't really cause much weight gain, but frequent consumption often coincides with poor diet choices. Your body is also unable to burn fat while alcohol is present in your system. But alcohol alone cannot cause weight gain unless it is consumed in a caloric surplus, which is hard to achieve from alcohol alone. It's when the alcohol comes with a fair amount of sugar/carbs from beer or mixed drinks that calories quickly add up and weight gain occurs. For the most part alcoholics tend to be thin and undernourished. Someone who drinks clear liquor is less likely to gain weight from it compared to someone who drinks a lot of beer.
If you're drinking alcohol to get drunk, alcohol alone can cause you to gain weight. To get drunk, you have to take a lot of alcohol into your body, which will cause you to gain weight. Alcohol turns into sugar in your body and to get drunk, you have to take too much alcohol into your body. Too much alcohol means too much sugar in your body. How will your body burn that much sugar in your body. Don't forget that the more alcohol is in your body, the more sugar in your body, because alcohol turns into sugar in your body.
Hmmm I made a goal not to drink for an entire week yesterday morning. I made it until just after the kids went to bed last night. I'm not an alcoholic, but I enjoy a couple drinks in the evening on most nights. I just hate all the calories it has.
I gave up alcohol to keep myself from being obese. Alcohol is what made me obese. I gave up alcohol and started running so I lost a lot of weight. My Body Mass Index had reached 30 because of Alcohol. Alcohol has too fucking many colories in it.
Sometimes a nice hot shower or bath the morning after pumps the heart fast and walk out of bathroom on your second drink stage.
Alcohol does not convert to sugar. That is completely not true. Alcohol actually lowers the blood sugar. Like I said before, to gain weight from drinking alcohol, it needs to be consumed in a caloric surplus. Simply drinking alcohol will not make you gain weight. If you can fit alcohol into your daily caloric allotment, you are not going to gain weight regardless if you become drunk or not. Alcohol stalls fat loss more than it contributes to fat gain because your body must burn off any alcohol present before it can resume burning fat.
