You know those rubber mats with a million rubber nails, like a nail bed but it's rubber.. and a mat. Those things are cool.
Warm cement or sidewalks with no gravel on them and my grass and patio outside and my floors because they are soft and smooth. I don't like carpet anymore because of the fibers they let out into the air and the dander they trap so I don't have any anymore.
I have one of those and I walk on it often, also if you remember the grass looking mats, plastic fiber that looks like grass, meant to clean dirt off shoes is an awesome foot massage. When I moved into my last place a few things were left behind and there was a dark blue mat with those rubber fingers sticking out at different heights meant for the feet. It's a pretty hard one to do and you sure feel it a while after. I think it was a therapists tool or item because the people before me had something to do with therapy. The black mat is way easier for me. And another item I found was a pair of blue insoles, on one side smooth and on the other is those nubs. You can start your day with the nubs up and take them out later and turn them into the opposite shoes upside down so the smooth side is up and finish your day.
my work has a plot of land with a 30 foot tall mound of pea gravel, I climbed up it, barefoot, and I sank almost to my knees. I was surprised I sank so far down (I weigh 155) thinking it being gravel it would support my weight better. It was much cooler than the air temperature and felt great.
in my prime time barefooting i feared pavements made of large round bulging stones, the size of fists... now they feel like massage ! :2thumbsup:
Ha, you are lucky you didn't sink past your nose, mighta been hard to get out. I know a lady who was up north for a house building project for older teens, she went on a walk herself and climbed an ice covered snow drift and crashed in just about to her shoulders, couldn't move but she was lucky there was lots of traffic going by there, a man helped her out and she was kinda freaked out. We used to do similar in Alberta after a huge dump of snow that iced over by morning, slide over it on our bellies in snow suits till we crashed in but it was probably only a foot to two feet deep of snow.
btw puncture vine, the plant which gifts us with goatheads, easily turns sandy soil into one of the worst natural surfaces ever. i've already been on this but i must stress the point... i hate those motherfuckers.
Grass Cobblestone paths Hardwood floors Carpet Smooth cement Beach sand if it's not too hot Floors of the frozen food aisle at the supermarket on a hot day Mud Shallow water puddles
I enjoying baring my soles to a number of surfaces, although my favourites are wood flooring or cool tiled floors, carpet and grass. However, my favourite of all surfaces has to be sand. I love nothing more than running along the shore line, allowing the sand to squelch between my toes as my feet sink into the sand with each foot fall. Running in wet sand also provides the muscles of the legs, most notably the calves with a challenging workout.
Dewey grass, mud, my all time favorite is earth that is wet, but not quite mud. The kind that has a cool, clay like feel to it.
