What do you drink when you are fasting?
Some have their favourite drinking mix, as a mix of maple syrup, cayenne pepper, lemon juice..
I mix curcuma roots, coconut milk , celery powder and paprika, filter, ad soya sauce and drink it in the evening..
Some of these drinks or brews have a cleansing purpose..
The purpose of fasting while drinking liquids is not to absorb solid food, this is purging the body and resting the digestive system, some will use pure water all day as well , but I am usually drinking the hot curcuma-soya sauce brew in the evening..
    What about you?

I find water nowadays really gets my digestion going. I feel hungry most times after 5-10mins of drinking only water.

Might start the fast off with some juiced kale, spinach, and cilantro, but mostly just water.

When I am fasting it's pretty much black coffee and water only.

Maple syrup contains sugar, which has calories, so if you're adding this to water it's not really fasting.

Coconut milk has calorie value, too, so it is not conducive to fasting.

I don't fast; but if I'm dieting I drink decaf coffee. heck, even if I'm not dieting! :)

I do lots of coffee, but caffeinated only in the morning.

My stepmother drinks a pot (yes, a pot) of caffeinated (yes, caffeinated) coffee before bed, because--get this--it helps her sleep.

Ever notice how some of the rules of the world just don't apply to some people?

    that's bizarre. lol
Made me laugh though. I think she should try to sleep without the coffee and see how it goes, but then who am I to judge.

    Not really.

    Caffiene is an adenosine blocker

Wont bore you with the details, but caffiene basically has opposing effects on those with high vs low blood pressure

Would give her a zing for about 20 minutes, but then help slightly lower blood pressure then help her get to sleep

It is true pure water is best for fasting..
For those who fast with water only, does warm water cleanse better than cold water?

I highly doubt it, since the water warms pretty fast once it's in your body anyway.

Some are saying that if you drink water as warm as you can, it is cleaning the guts..
