What kind of diet do you eat? And why? I've stated eating more of a paleo/keto diet lately because sugar and wheat give me mood swings. I mostly stick to eggs, ground beef, chicken, veggies etc.. I miss eating that delicious fast food but its not good for me.
I don't want to beat a dead horse since nobody here has discussed their diet as much as I have, but like you I am hardcore into the paleo/keto thing. 70-80% of my diet comes from fat, 10-20% from protein, and the remaining 10% or so from carbs, most of which come from non-starchy vegetables, low-sugar fruits, seeds and nuts. I have more energy than I have had in my life, I feel great all the time, and I look better now at age 33 than I ever have. The mood swings you were having are the result of the blood sugar spikes and drops which come with sugar, grain and refined carbohydrate consumption. Once you eliminate those things and enter fat burning mode, you have a consistent and constant flow of energy, so you don't need to eat every 3 hours just to keep going throughout the day. I normally fast upwards of 20 hours a day most days, without getting tired or lightheaded, getting headaches, or any of the other problems sugar burners get when they haven't eaten in any more than a few hours since their last meal.
I have to admit mine isn't very good and I know how to make it right. I tend to eat only when I am hungry rather then three times a day like we should. Sometimes I don't eat all day till evening. My mom bugs me about it all the time. I like the paleo/keto thing too. More fats less carbs, it isn't that way all the time tho because when I find out I am hungry sometimes I will reach for something totally off the wall. Could do much better.
oh yea, the headaches is another thing lol. If i dont eat for my entire 8 hour work shift i will more then likely get a MASSIVE headache that will sometimes last 6-7 hours. Are you still getting most of your fats from avocados, coconut oil and beef PR?
Yeah. And butter, MCT oil, seeds and nuts. I also eat bacon a couple days a week. I don't really eat coconut oil as much as I used to. I prefer coconut butter/manna. For the past month or so I have been making my post-workout protein shakes with half heavy cream and half coconut milk. It tastes fucking awesome, too. I should really call them fat shakes because they have way more fat than protein.
That was where my worst habit was, going to work without a lunch. For some reason a few coffees through the shift seemed perfect for me. I found it hard tho during 12 hour shifts when I changed to work more hours and less days. Then I had to bring something to eat. I usually chose an energy bar, something I could carry on my machines and eat it when ever I wanted to or had time to. I also carried water at all times and still do even tho I work at home now. There is a bottle of water in several areas. I am into mineralizing my water as well.
I am no longer sold on the notion that people should eat three times a day. There are a ton of health benefits that come with intermittent fasting, including increased insulin sensitivity, increased longevity, and increased levels of Human Growth Hormone (HGH). For most people this means simply skipping breakfast and eating a late lunch. I wouldn't recommend this to most people, though, until they stabilize their blood glucose, which means getting rid of most carbs. Getting rid of most carbs from the diet will make a person feel like shit for a week or two as they make the transition to fat burning mode (ketosis), but once they have become adapted to burning fat as their primary energy source they will feel better than ever.
I am not all that sold on it either, especially when eating breakfast made me hungry like a horse by noon, like I couldn't get enough quick enough. It actually made me gain weight when I tried it for a while, against my will but to please others who said I should. I still don't like eating breakfast. My first meal is usually after noon and maybe closer to 2 pm.
The thing with breakfast is that people usually eat the worst shit to start off their day -- stuff that is only going to make them hungry again a few hours later. I am talking things like cereal, bagels, toast, orange juice, etc. This is some of the WORST things people could be eating to start off their day. Eggs, bacon and sausage are really the only suitable breakfast foods because they are satiating and don't spike the blood sugar, only to have it drop a couple hours later.
my diet's unhealthy as fuck. more fast food than anything. why? because i'm normally at work during both lunch and dinner times, and i haven't figured out a way to pack a meal that isn't just awful. i have done a pretty good job of getting people at work to cook for me at least. it's probably about twice a week on average that i get a free meal out of a coworker. healthiness of the meal obviously varies, but it's always better (and tastier) than fast food.
I eat whatever I please right now. But I usually drink only water (Bottled and Flouride-Free whenever I can). Which works wonders for the skin! I only try to avoid High Fructose Corn Syrup and Flouride period.
Low-fat, high-carb, high in raw fruits and veg. I also love sweet potatoes and cooked veggies. I prefer hemp seeds, avocado, sesame seeds and pecans when I eat fats. Eating oil makes my face break out and makes my skin and scalp itchy. It's been working for me for several years now.
