What is your bull-shit reason that you still have f-book?

Meh.. anonymity seems to be more of a faux pas when people use it as an excuse not to be on facebook..

 

Never Tweeted or had a Facebook or MySpace account.

but I don't have my address or phone number on there & it isn't public . like stupid people mostly do their facebooks.

 

To be honest I worry more about my account here than Facebook. It's stated in the terms of service or whatever it's called that the webmaster will work with law enforcement if need be. And the crap I put on here is way more controversial and radical than anything I put on Facebook.

On my fb, the CIA would discern that I like to have fun, occasionally drink beer, and hang out with my friends and family. I dont put anything too personal on facebook.

On here ive put all my political views out there and i cant go back and erase those posts.

You guys know me as meliai but it would take the gubbament about 5 seconds to figure out my real name if they wanted.

I use it for work and I can't wait to get my business to the point where I hire someone else to do that crap and I can get off that site!

I like that it lets me put up photos and I think it's easy to keep in touch with the people I care to through it. Sure, I could use email, but fb is easy.

Other people's status updates don't affect me in the slightest, and I rarely find them dramatic, just funny or boring, usually.

If you use it with care, it's fine. I don't put anything there I'm not happy for my parents, potential employers and customers, or anyone else to see.

My HF identity however I try to hide from people I know. I wouldn't want anyone who knows me or can affect my real life to read what I post here.

 

I comment on some sites with facebook, on other you can log through it without creating account. You always get notifications if someone replies.

you are correct sir...if i ran for office there would be suicide girl naked shots of my own step daughter that she posted right on her fbook account for the whole world lol...she was banned for doin shit like that from fb...not to mention the 100 shots of weed in my album....about a year ago i decided to stop with the criminal posts online because i realized all my posts on this site made me easily traceable by any of you

it seems to me that every damned site has that stupid little row of logos including fb where you can ''like'' or what ever the fuck that little row of logos does....people dont seem to care that fb has engrained itself into everday life to the point where you cant listen to the radio without some fuck wad dj telling me to go to the stations fb page and see garbage or what ever the fuck you people do on those b pages...

i have facebook, it's annoying but can be handy sometimes. lots of people are so used to only inviting people to parties through facebook - i might end up missing out on something if i deleted it all together. i just have it down to close friends and family, not randoms from highschool or anything like that.

 

its by far the easiest way to organise events and meetings. me and a few friends and acquaintances are making a low-budget film at the moment. without facebook the logistics of it would have been a bloody nightmare.

If I didn't have one I would have missed out on tons of really cool concerts and events around town.

 

But contrary to an email or a phonecall, people don't have to read/answer anything u say, so basically u know u're not bothering them and they don't feel rude if they don't have anything to reply.
Personally i hate the phone, and i feel like i have to answer personal emails (with something more than just "good for u"), but i still love knowing that my foreign friends who live far away are happy and good.

So I have a facebook, which i rarely post on, i keep maybe 40 people there, most of which live far away from me (so i keep it in english). 99% of the posts i make there are either jokes or comments on movies/series i've watched. Oh and my last name there is fake, which so far has prevented any of my students to find it. If they ever found it though, i don't think their english is good enough to figure out what i'm saying there anyway.

I seriously doubt the CIA is interested in knowing what a french girl has to say about Game of Thrones, or that i painted my kitchen a bright pink.

My bullshit reason is that for the 5-10 minutes I can go scroll through and look at posts from my "friends". I'm selective....only 80 on my fb. I also can see new music or keep up with tennis tournaments.

 

Never had it, never will. What a waste of time.
