This just in! Today it has bee officaly declared that apple pie is the most American food! I'm glad we can all get this out of the way now.
oh yeah, they're freaking disgusting...but they're so incredible at the same time! you have them back home?? wow.... you can't even get them everywhere in the states! thats cool though:cheers2:
Yeah, they make them in quite a few places. At least in Santo Domingo and other big cities, Im sure in smaller places they dont have it. My brother is a big fan of them, but I've never been a fan of beef, even when I ate meat.
apple pie is certainly an iconic foodstuff in terms of american culture, but apple pie has existed in one form or another for a couple hundred years before the US did. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple_pie i insist that for a food to be the MOST american food, it needs to not only be popular in america, but must be american in origin
I have an answer to all of this... if you text questions to 242242 they'll find the answer. The reply was also apple pie.
In a land as diverse as America how can one come up with "typical" cuisine... Typical in America is varied...from Indian to Greek to Italian to .... anything really. Just a wide mix of foods from all sorts of cultures, since America is a melting pot nation.
because thats how i view american food. although, i don't like american food. i perfer polish and german food, myself.
Than you must not get around much.. Oh well, you are only 17, you'll experience great cuisine in this country.
