I have a Grand Cherokee Limited HO. That was our main vehicle before we bought the MINI. I still love it! Now I drive it mostly for recreational things but I hated to get rid of it because I need it for hauling stuff, pulling trailers, etc.

He means the catalytic converter that is part of the exhaust system ant it turhs carbon monoxide into carbeon dioxide. There are certian amount of precious metals that go into making one such as platinum and paladium.

2004 ford Taurus. I bought it a few months ago from my elderly aunt and it only had 37000 miles on it. I paid $4000 cash. I love it because its an old car but it runs as smooth as a new car. I think I'm always going to buy my cars from old ladies from now on.

its a nice mid sized sedan. It gets really shitty gas mileage but other than that I have no complaints.

Sure does. It's not my first Jeep though. I'm a long-time Jeep owner. But I must admit.....I had an Isuzu Trooper that was the best 4x4 that I've ever owned. Totally badass vehicle.

My last purchase was a 95' Jeep wrangler YJ with a hard arm coil over conversion. There is no replacement for Jeep, Best on/off road vehicle(s) to date. It gets 18mpg back roads and 65mph around15mpg, But IMO with no top or doors, Best 4x4 made, Its the best all around vehicle for all elements. Ive always owned a Jeep, And will always own a couple.

I don't disagree with this but I'd like to see Jeep figure out a way to use something like the transmission that my Trooper had. I took my Trooper out in nearly a foot of wet, new snow when I first got it and couldn't get it to spin the tires or even slide. The transmission automatically knows whats going on and adjusts in seconds. It was really impressive.

I walked away from cars shortly before I moved aboard a sailboat. I do a lot of walking.

Last vehicle was a Pontiac Sunbird, don't remember the year, that tried to kill me with a computer malfunction where the throttle came wide open and simultaneously cut the power to my power brakes.

Me like sailboat. Wind blow, boat go. Boat no try to drive me off of cliff go boom.

They do in a way, Traction control to the tire. But when a hemi is under the hood, Or even the 4.0L HO, They will slip. The Isuzu's were/are good off road, But not too much aftermarket support when jeep is top dog for the task. I agree, The troopers and older rodeo's that were 4wd, Almost impossible to get stuck with-in reason. Kinda like Subaru's, Small and doughnut tires, Oddly enough will go through or over anything.

Yeah...Jeep is a lot more popular. We blew the motor on the Trooper (super bummer!) and my buddy who is a mechanic said you can't even rebuild them. You have to go used or new. The motor we needed was pretty expensive and not easy to find. A new one was $6k (his cost). I loved that Trooper but not enough to put a $6k motor in it. In retrospect, I should have bought a converter package and dropped something else in it.

Isuzu Trooper, OK, I may have gotten the wrong impression but the vehicle always looked to me as if it would tip-over in a 5 mph wind

Not really anymore top heavy than anything else.

Mine basically looked like this but was all black, tinted windows, etc. This one might not be the exact year...but it's similar.

Here is an older one. I wouldn't have tried this in mine (not lifted, etc) but I have done it in a Jeep. So much fun.

Not sure what kind of condition it's in but I hope you can cash in on that thing. A friend was just telling me today that his dad has an old Suburban with a diesel engine and he saw one in similar condition (very nice) recently sell for $9k.

1991 ford explorer. I've never really driven it, but eventually I'll get my use out of it.

    Nope... I'm getting a grand.

Traded the old property where the house fire was for it. It was written up at $1500 but the land was worth over 2 grand. Major loss but you gotta do what you gotta do. I guess I could not pay my bills have the electric turned off and not have water either because I'm on a well, be in dutch with the hospital that ran tests which told me nothing... or take the loss and say good riddance. It's $1000.00 I don't have and won't otherwise have any time soon.

Man...you've had a tough run lately. I really wish all of that could have worked out a little more favorably for you. :(

Such is life... Others certainly have it worse.

Some 15 year old kid is getting the truck of his dreams. Can't be all bad.

an amc hornet wagon, almost two decades ago. it was already 'knackered' before i bought it, and i have to admit running what was left of it into the ground.
under my circumstances at the time i had little choice other then to do so.
i really very much prefer not having the hassles of vehicle ownership, even not to mention the negative impacts on the environment, of a transportation policy based upon them.
