What is mind? Is it just an illusion? Or is it just matter? (You'll notice that I put this question in the atheist section.)
Consciousness is an emergent state dependent on the complex interactions between billions of neurons inside the brain.
It's a product of your brain. And when you die, POOF! You are gone. You cease to exist, just like before you were born.
mind is the operating system that runs on the platform of the brain that the body exists to sustain. its end user is our our soul, which is our preferences, priorities, and perspectives. which unlike memory, persists from life to life. and is the real you, to which even life itself is peripheral. of course there is no proof to this perspective, it is merely what makes sense to me. (and wile any belief is only one possibility in billions if not infinite, the i that is self, did very much exist before the form the currently hosts my awareness was caused to exist, not on this world, but on others, each a complete physical life from birth to death. we live in a universe very unlike the beliefs prevalent on this earth. nothing to do with them, but very much stranger and more wonderful and interesting)
mind is the true self, though it occupies no physical space and has not physical form. (when i'm not being told what to pretend, i am able to think more clearly and state things more simply)
