im still really not phrasing this properly. im about to type down an example of what i mean, sleep deprived and i cant think right now.
sssooo... you want to review journals and write papers, but not apply it in the lab?? *shrugs* I always figured taking part in the process (repeatedly applying the theory) is how you really do research. a researcher knows how to do the work behind the writing.
your kind of on the right track, but i dont want to apply it in the lab, i dont want to review journals, and papers either, i want the human interaction with test subjects during the initial stages of the clinical phase of research. monitoring human interaction with "phased research drugs" and sometimes procedures. after the drug is developed, and reaches clinical levels (this is after what your talking about, i believe). anyhow the prelim stages of clinical testing often involve dr/patient like relationships, physicians (or technicians - depends on the company, the drug, the disorder, etc...) at this stage aren't really doing the research (technically they are - but not really on a lab level anymore) they are more monitoring the patients interactions. this is my interest, thousands of doctors get into this field throughout the world, and i would like to also at some point in my career. note: not all research drugs are done like this, many fields are though (like i said it depends on the company, the drug itself, the disease). i hope i said it right, now.
Want to make LSD? spend a lot of attention in lab to the various reaction techniques and what is happening. Also, when picking a university, be sure to choose that has a good chem department that conducts research projects. BECOME A RESEARCH ASSISTANT ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Being a research assistant will give you more insight into LSD synthesis than 4 years of lecture will. You will get familiar with all of the equipment you could dream of, as well as making a friendship with a master of the chemical arts. Should you have any questions, (don't directly ask "hai how 2 I make LSDs?") just ask the research leader/professor. I am still a freshman and I am working towards a calculus major but I am taking a lot of chem at the moment and am involved in a chem research project where we get to work in a room full of hundreds of thousands of dollars of equipment.
?? you can major in calculus? hundreds of thousands of dollars of equipment = NMR, LC-MS , and x-ray crystallography
