    precisely on both counts.
just nothing intrinsic about it as a an engine to drive an economy.
doesn't have to be gotten rid of,
    but other worlds,
don't be too shocked to find may have invented (and stabilized) other ways.

a country doesn't have to be a responsibility, they're even better off NOT being 'micro-managed'.
the responsibility is to take as much as is possible into consideration when planning them.
this is where a committee has an actual advantage, as more mind can discover what one mind might miss.
of course it does need to be composed of people, the planning committee that is, who won't 'kill' or 'disincentivise' each other's input.
reject later as logical, but there are nearly infinite considerations to not be overlooked, so the more minds on the job of integrating all those considerations, the better chance of not overlooking major ones.
then yes, i know this is the other side of the problem too. but every country there has ever been sooner or later has a problem with something it didn't take into account.

Resource based economy. We'd go back to bartering or paying with services exchanged. Solar and wind power would power the country, recycling would be a must. There would be no poor people because everyone would get a home and the size of the home is based on the size of your family, not your income. I'm sick of these celebrities that live alone in a 20 bedroom mansion while people are on the street.

The government would be there as a way to help the people, but the people will be able to call for a vote of no confidence at any time to have a new election. The laws will apply to the president and he or she won't be above anyone else, status wise.

I agree with what you say, and in your previous post. The epilogue to my novel is a description of my vision of a good future society, and it sounds very much like what you describe.

but you're not going to do it with government alone. people balk at that.
you need a culture of people wanting the right things, which most people would or do, without ideologies or beliefs leading them astray from doing so.
and there are a lot of things that influence culture. mostly the kinds of stories that entertain people and inspire them to emulate.
this is why the story tellers are important, and even animations and games.
and again not by censorship, because it takes diversity also, but paying attention to and influencing statistics in them.
also people are less influenced by what they see or even experience one time, however horrendous or wonderful, then by what their lives are constantly surrounded by.
i know there's a kind of chicken or the egg, which comes furst here, but its more a matter of how everything influences everything else,
you know, not controls, but influences. statistical is just how it works.

i agree it robs from everyone to be wasteful, to hord and then be wasteful, of things someone else could be creative with.
we really need to encourage people to be imaginative in considerate ways,
both toward each other, and our environment which is the foundation of all our existence.
not just all other species, but of the entirety of our own.

we do need government to encourage and incentivise this idea of sharing and not wasting, instead of the way this idea of everything having to be about money, incentivises basically the exact opposite.
not just money, but money and ego. trying to impress anyone by what we can buy, instead of what we can make with our own hands.

people need to be allowed and encouraged to step back and see how much crazy nonsense that is, about trying to impress each other with what they can buy.
