Also knowing that the same people hide under a guise and are a complete facade sets my self esteem pretty high too because I can just be myself because it's who I am, but you, hide under several user names and built "friendships" with good folks based on lies and manipulation and don't even have the decency to admit it to your "friends". Haha. What a sham. and then having to watch you stick your nose up their ass to get some self satisfaction and gratification and they don't even know who you really are. and you still don't possess the decency to admit it. Rofl. I dunno if it's self esteem or what, but I'm glad I ain't you. That's for sure. Loooooser.
Everywhere you turn, there is a advertizing campaign or school program designed to promote high self esteem in people—mostly children. But high self esteem does not lead to better outcomes then low self esteem. In fact, it can lead to worse outcomes. I will try and link some of the research later when I have some time.
I think if your self esteem comes from someone else, it isn't...self esteem. So, I don't think self esteem itself is bullshit, but I agree that the marketing of it as some kind of product is absolutely bullshit.
It may be self esteem but it's also entirely related to the internet. Your self esteem and how it increases hopefully (most likely ) not.
Well I mean, if you're using fake accounts and persona on the internet then I don't know how that lifts your self esteem as you're not really being true to yourself. maybe their multiple personality self esteem lol. Ahh well, whatever floats their boat.
