These days, when I see something on TV (or news), I ask myself; "do I really need this in my consciousness?" The answer is generally 'no'.
I subscribed to The Great Courses Plus, and am going to take some music classes over the Internet.

That seems like a great idea! I checked the site briefly and am now going to take a closer look. Some interesting offers...in terms of the subjects they cover.

Actually, it sparked a few ideas!

Doesn't that happen to everyone after college? :)

There is serious Fruit Pie shortage at restaurants nowadays. Every place wants you to eat something called 'cheesecake' but it ain't a pretty picture. But no pies! No Dutch Apple pie, no Strawberry-Rhubarb pie, no Blackberry pie, no Shoofly pie, no Tarheel pie, no Key Lime pie, no Pecan pie, no Peach pie, no Sweet Potato pie - it's a bad situation.

You get yourself over to a park someplace with those pipes and you'll have more new friends that you can shake a stick at. Everybody loves a piper!

As of Friday, we're fully vaccinated, and just moments ago, NEW REEDS JUST ARRIVED FROM CANADA! Screwed one in, tried it, gave it another 1/4 turn, and VOILA! What a difference from endlessly fiddling trying to get the last dying breath out of my ancient (~12 years) tired and worn-out reeds!

Wow; new reeds. I'm not gonna know how to act.

They're war pipes; 92 dB. Loud enough to be heard over gunfire.

I found them by word-of-mouth (a neighbor and dear friend retired here specifically for the hiking; our county's ~75% National Forest, and the Appalachian Trail passes through right over yonder), but I'd ask 'round any local National Forest/Park office or ranger station (they're some of the nicest folk; helpful to a fault. They love to tell you all about their bailiwick), or your local outdoors/camping store.

Jealous! Once upon a time, I lived near a nice stretch of the AT and it was always fun meeting the thru hikers. The Mountains-to-Sea trail doesn't have the same vibe at all.

We're within easy range of the AT, Mountains to Sea, Bartram, and Tanasi trails...and a bazillion miles of Forest Service fire roads.
