What has become of this place we call hipforums?

I think USNavyDeadhead probably gets a good perspective on whose kindhearted around here. So many young kids are caught up not just in image, but in doggrel and ignorance that mascarades as a 'belief' or 'stand'. I mean, if you were on here saying ridiculous things like you are in Iraq killing babies and loving it, there would be cause to get all worked up and try to convince you the military is as bad as us peace-niks see it. But you sould level-headed and kind, and example to some kids that there about what diversity means.
I am solidly non-violent and pro-peace and have my theories on the government an military, but I welcome anyone here as a brother or sister, no matter what uniform they wear.

i am sorry some of the good old people have left, and i understand why you dont like some of the new people (some are mean, trying to be labeled a "hippy", and rude) but some are good. i am nwe, and i think i've been doing allright. at least i've been trying. this is just all about peace and love and unity between people who would've otherwise never met (maybe)

Some threads on this site just make me sick. There's a homelessness one and some idiots keep posting shit like 'kill the homeless'. A few jokers around here just like to stir shit up. They wouldn't know a conversation from a fart. They just shoot their mouths off to be 'witty'

Well, you know how it is... older folks have less time to contribute... younger neo hippies have the time to post.... it's the evolution of the young taking over the old... what can you do?

 

ummm....I find now that the older I get the more time I have to sit in front of a computer and when I was younger I rarely found myself in front of one...could have something to do with my age and the invention of computers but could also have something to do with me once having a life!!!

 

Deadhead, I don't doubt that you're a good person (and I honestly mean that, because I believe goodness is inherent in everyone)... I'm just heartbroken that the military seemed the only option for you. And I'm aware that there are lots of very good people besides yourself that have enlisted.

It's the system that drives people to such a sad solution. So, with due respect to you as a person, fuck the military.

I hope someday no one will have to sell him/herself to militant nationalism.
