I don't know about anyone else, but I really miss 90's metal. Granted, I may have things... discombobulated. Most of the early 90's metal I'm mentioning came from video game soundtracks. No screamo, just mainly instrumental. Post your favorite music from games here! And hey, let's give it up for some of that awesome synthesizer music too! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n4AUY-v1nsE&index=24&list=PLas8Lf5-ugpFZnAwvUosHWjygL280XaC7 Frank Klepacki is the MAN! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XM4oBUlTjRA&index=4&list=PL377E0F8B54AA6FBC Streets of Rage Remake is an amazing game and it's FREE! I think The Prince of Persia: Warrior Within soundtrack is for you then. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vm7aNxzWTJk&index=30&list=PL39A80E0ABBF9D3B8
I have heard a LOT about this game in my ventures looking up (now?) retro console games. Hard to believe the original Xbox and Playstation 2 are considered retro systems already. They've slowly become my favorites, but it still leaves me wanting more. I liked this from the first 3 seconds of the song Thanks! Speaking of 8-bit music... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bk0we0mjNXA&list=PLdmn5nraSvlFfx9xRvxA1yfu8dmsBd2dR&index=22 Retro City Rampage DX has some of the best I've ever heard. Really adds to the immersion factor of the game. That game is a must play for retro gamers! And an 8-bit collection wouldn't be complete without this... https://www.youtube.com/watch?annotation_id=annotation_2390356569&feature=iv&src_vid=jdb47fWKo-E&v=6a6UWjKgynU Over 20 Years of Pink, Puffy POWER!! (I quite enjoyed just finding that video)
My fav metal is from the 90's but I don't associate it with my fav games from that decade at all! Except that I used to play games like Blood or Duke Nukem with a cd playing in the background. That's how I also associate the smell of washing powder with games like Jedi knight and such because around that time our pc was standing in the same room where the laundry dried :-D One of my all time fav game experiences was Prince of Persia: the sands of time on the first xbox, and it also contains one of my fav pieces of music I recall from games: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l8DyX_5hIIo Another game tune that was so iconic or catchy, or just heard too damn often that it can still pop up in my mind is the tune playing in the lost woods in Ocarina of time
Some more stuff I enjoy....I have a playlist on my phone with over 300 tunes from games. I will add some of what I enjoy here periodically. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gcm3ak-SLqM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rjaW4ZYzVHI
