I like to think I do pretty good covers of Eno's "Everything Merges With the Night" and Lennon's "Working Class Hero." Heh, too bad I've never performed.
Today we were playing Purple Haze and transitioned it into Fire (both by Hendrix). It was suprisingly good. We need a drummer.

last gigs i played were parties at bars, so it was easy to do some odd covers as well as try out the new original stuff. We did about half and half covers to originals, and enjoyed it. My covers from the shows were : 3rd Stone From The Sun, Stevie Ray Vaughn style Do Blues traditionals count as covers? Lawdy Miss Clawdy, Fever and a blues medley of traditionals. Between sets on my own I did Little Queen of Spades, 32-20 Blues, and Baby Please Dont Go. Plus the usual collection of Janis tunes our singer wails so well, Combination, Miseryn, Turtle Blues, Roadblock, Raise Your Hand, Maybe. in the right situation, covers are really fun - the holiday parties were great for that!
Let It Be by the Beatles somehow always gets you people's attention. And if that doesn't do the trick, "My Generation" will.
We play some kickass "My Name is Mud" and "Too Many Puppie" by Primus. And we do an awesome version of "Symptom of the Universe" by Black Sabbath. I sing in this Frank Sinatra-esqe voice. 'S bitchen, yo.
We did Ohio by Neil Young and the Pulp Fiction theme, Misourlou. That was only when we were starting off though, now we do all originals.
The coolest cover my band does is Michael Hedge's arrangement of Dylan's All Along The Watchtower. Hedge's is a beyond incredible guitarist, and does a great version of that song, with a wicked tuning and great slap harmonics.
I'm not in a band currently, but when I was we did... The Rolling Stones-Jumpin' Jack Flash,Live With Me David Bowie & The Spiders From Mars-Hang On To Yourself,Suffergette City Kiss-Deuce,Strutter,Rock and Roll All Nite UFO-Doctor,Doctor Black Sabbath-War Pigs We did them all pretty good...Me and the drummer jammed on alot of song's that the other band member's didn't know like Hendrix,Grand Funk,Cream stuff like that. Damn I Miss being in a band....
