You are 24 years old. For your entire lifetime, 5 guys a year has been a lot, for obvious medical reasons. And the situation isn't likely to get better. Some of us just got to live through a special time in history, when people could get by with almost anything, and we did.

What that proves to me is that sexual morals are nothing, but risks and consequences are everything. When the times change, you have to adjust.

 

I know someone who has, she's only 36 too. It happens even now.

 

When you hook up with her, make sure you wear six condoms, three pair of underwear, and a medieval suit of armor.

You can always find a few nuts out there who will take crazy risks. The world's oldest profession started back before there was any kind of birth control. Not even condoms.

 

In my day ('60 & '70s in the Haight and Northwest coast) we refered to such women as 'Wild Women" a mark of respect! These were as a rule women who knew what they wanted and went for it.

 

The notion that the 60s and 70s had a lot less STD problems is assinying.

The only STDs that were far less common was AIDS.

Syphilis has been around since the first orgy in human history.

Herpes, since as far as Ancient Greece.

And treatment for Gonorhea was around well before the 70s, in fact, in the 1970s some gonorhea treatment started to gain resistence.

So don't try to act as if the 60s and 70s allowed for more carefree fucking.

Curable. That was the key word. And in most cases, easily curable. Just one shot for most things. I never knew anyone or heard about anybody getting drug-resistant anything back then. STDs still weren't fun, but considered to be nothing more than an inconvenience by a lot of people.

My older sister was the wild child who kept me up to date in the late 70s on all the trendy practices. My golden era started in 1980.

I was still in college when herpes became something that everybody knew and worried about. And there were no effective treatments for the symptoms. That's when I got serious about using condoms consistently.

Shortly after I was out of college, I started hearing about people getting herpes even when they used condoms, and straight people started dying of AIDS. Suddenly, everybody was into monogamy and masturbation. The rest of the 80s was damn depressing.

In the early 90s, when you were still playing with kiddie toys, people were starting to get a handle on things and rebound to some degree. For the first time, I knew people who went with dating partners to get STD tested, which used to be only for engaged couples. And I heard much more about swapping arrangements, which created a supposedly closed group.

When I saw my first dental dam in a store, I laughed.

Near the end of the 90s, better treatments for HIV and herpes caused some younger people to relax, in my opinion, a little too much. I started reading about a resurgence of hookup parties, though I was too old by then to know anybody who went to one.

I like some of the trends in this decade better. Thanks in part to Paris Hilton, we have more flashing, and much more sex videos and explicit still pictures being traded online. And we have free forums like this one. Exhibitionism is, always has been, and always will be the safest form of kinky sex. I'd much rather risk a computer virus than a real one.

Dude, you act like you're the spokesman for the times.

I know some hardcore hippies and most tell me the " good times " were exgerated.

A lot of people would go on bad acid trips, and when all is said and done end up with shit jobs.

Not everyone was deep into the culture in the 60s or 70s, or at any time.

Those part of the youth group in the 60s smoked pot, but not everyone was a pothead, just like not everyone went to an orgy every weekend.

And there's never been a quick fix for syphilis or gonorhea, you can lie to yourself but don't think you can bend medical treatment in your preference.

Syphilis back in the 60s and 70s was harder to get rid of than now.

You all undoubtedly sat next to one in college without realising it, pretty girl with the nice wardrobe who worked nights at a higher class establishment without telling anyone, you thought she was stuck up cos she had no boyfriend, didnt give much response to guys, or faked the innocence, would say things like she doesnt believe in sex before marriage and everyone falls for it hook line and sinker. Cos apparently its only crackheads and girls with low self esteem that work as call girls, a normal girl wouldnt work in such a profession cos of the stigma attached to it? They aint going to care about the stigma if no one finds out about it.

In any western city there are umpteen brothels operating around your neighbourhood, maintained by anywhere from 1/2 dozen to 50 girls mainly in that 18-25 range, just none of the girls you know right?

 

Probably only pornstars and prostitutes have with that big of a number. I personally don't believe in the idea of calling a woman a slut because she likes to have sex or what she likes to do, the double standard crap has to end. Most women do not enjoy casual sex. There are some who do. A woman who is not physically repulsive will have an easy time having 100 or more sex partners if she does not expect much besides the sex.

A man who has that many partners either needs to pay for them, or he needes to be a celebrity.
