That is a huge and unfortunate, but understandable, change in attitude since my college days. Without incurable conditions to worry about, my friends and I used to really get into the mindset of the ancient Greeks and Romans on the concept of promiscuity. We experimented with letting a guy put a load in you first and getting to know him second, and we experimented with doing total strangers and friends and boyfriends of friends. Just like we experimented with drugs and every other thing that we had been told not to do by people we did not respect.

It was partly a rejection of traditional society's right to tell us who to fuck, and when. It was partly done out of a willingness to try new things with an open mind, and go in new directions. And sure, it was partly about being horny young girls who loved being treated like rock stars by male athletes and frat boys. :reddevil:

KJ69 is right there is a double standard. This comes about due to biology. Women ovulate only twelve times a year. So from a biological standpoint they have to be more selective. But now we have birth control so there is no biologic reason women shouldn't break out of this and fuck as much as they want. Hey, it's their bodies. What's it to you?

You are quite right, but there is also an economic factor. For my grandmothers' generation, they had to get married to get food and a roof over their head. They had to be careful not to give away their most valuable asset for nothing. Now that women have our own careers, we can afford the luxury of dealing with sex like a man does, if we wish.
