I just remembered that I forgot to mention that I found SimCity 4 Deluxe Edition at Goodwill just a few days after talking about it in here! I had a hell of a time getting it to run on Win7 tho. Installed it, ran the official patch, downloaded the BAT (1.1.640) unofficial patch, downloaded the SC4 Launcher and NAM patch and installed in that order, but it didn't want to work for some reason. So, what I ended up doing is contacting EA Origin support and had them activate it through their gaming client. Which I've done with a few other games (Command & Conquer Generals and The Sims 2) and then installed the patches in the same order, which worked flawlessly. The SC4 Launcher lets you run the game in custom widescreen resolution, while the game itself (w/o SC4 Launcher) is hardcoded to run in letterbox mode. By the way, if you do have The Sims 2 (any version that includes the base game, I believe), if you contact EA Origin support and tell them you're having trouble activating it, they'll activate The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection under your account. Which was a really good deal for me! I bought Sims 2 Deluxe Edition YEARS ago for $20, and after contacting EA and registering Sims 2 UC, that's like $200 worth of game... (s?) EA is really good about registering old copies of their games. I think that's really cool since a lot of old games don't work on more modern systems.
You haven't finished GTA5??? I fkn love the storyline in that game. Doesn't quite rival The Last of Us as far as story quality goes, but it's a nice contender. It really does make it feel like a Quentin Tarantino film the way you switch back and forth between characters. I didn't expect the end of the game to creep up on me like that tho. It's a little Goodfellas-esque too imo. Can't help but love it lol <-- (Bringing back triple posting. )
Ill step in so you can post again with a clear consiounce damn you spell check turned off!!! This sleeping dogs game is really making me want to pick up yakuza next.
Maybe i will preorder just for a chance to win a trip to boston....i know that is a song or something.
I would not have had this game on my wishlist if it wasn't recommended on this forum I'm saving it for the ps4 Already saw a complete edition for not too much money. Also looked into Yakuza but not sure if that's my kind of thing. So I took notice of Mafia 3, which is still a long wait, but it seems to have a very fun setting (New Orleans in the sixties). Which made me wonder: anyone here familiar with Mafia 2 and dare to still recommend it? I'm only about halfway through myself too But yes, great game and story is fun enough to want to keep going. It is just that I'm gonna buy it for next gen as well and think why not finish it there.
I saw mafia2 at pax when it first was shown. I was very excited to play it. Then something happened....lots of other great games came out and it always got pushed back. Now I will never get it because my list is so long that by the time I get to it there will be more good games ahead of it. My friend does have it and I played it one time. It was fun exploring the city but the cars and weapons are realistic and therefore slow and week compared to modern games of the genre. My friend said there are faster cars later in the game so maybe it gets better. If you only play sandbox games I would put this one on the list but if you are like me...there are games like fallout and mass effect that cut into my sandbox game time. Forcing me to only play the very best sandbox games. This one falls just slightly short of that.
GTA5 has already been released on the xbone. Cool, thanks for sharing! I am considering getting it, also so I get into that series a bit before the (very different) Maffia 3 (which is not out for at least another year ), but I also have such a list haha First gonna finish AC: Rogue btw!
I think the xbone version is comparable to the ps4 version, which is the next gen version I have experience with and I can say that although the 360 version is already great the graphical improvements alone on the next gen make it worthwile for me to buy it again. But frankly only because I am gonna play it online with friends as well (which i skipped completely on the 360). Otherwise I would not bother spending another 40 euros on it.
still don't know where you are from but now that I checked out your gallery I am guessing a Scandinavian country while we are at it...what the fuck is your signature picture from?
hah, I got half way through the game then learned about how to maximize your players' cash with the assassination missions from lester and how to invest in stocks, how to do the heists with maximum profits. Ended up restarting and haven't finished yet lol. Replayability for the story is pretty high imo.
Finished sleeping dogs. Stopped doing side missions after i maxed out my "face" level. The reward for doing so.....40% off all clothes and cars. Ummm i already purchased all the special clothes and bought the best car i could so i felt like there was nothing more to do. I only took story missions after that and there wasnt many. They were long as fuck but not a whole lot of them. Just started tomb raider. I thought it was gonna turn into a quicktime event but it got good after an hour or so. Not a fan of some of the upgrades. Some should just be automatic as you level up. But i am really into it now.
