What feels best under your feet? Today it's soil for me.

What surface is your favorite to walk on?
It was 62 Degrees out today, so I got out in the yard.
I have never walked in soil before, I am a new fan.
It was a little cold, but it felt damn good.
Here's some pics from the soil, and then the walk back after.

 

Soil is good, grass is nice. I like the beach too.

The cool smooth floors of a store can feel good.

Loads of surfaces to experience and enjoy.

Mud.

We had a rare warmish rain storm here last night.
By early next week, the still underwater parts of the trail will be a heavenly stretch of gooey mud.
I'm off work next week, so hope to get in some good mud hikes.

What marvelous mud! The sight of it alone makes my toes wiggle with glee...

 

I see from your avatar, you're also a connoisseur of fine mud. .

Good mud is not common here. Trails are mostly either sandy or rocky and we only get around 10" of annual rain, usually from cold winter storms. I like mud but not cold mud.

This particular trail parallels a strawberry farm. Rain washes some of the fine soil onto the trail and creates good mud. If its warm enough, I always hit this trail after it rains to get my mud fix!

 

Yeah, I suppose I am! Maybe it's in my genes, but seeing a wonderful patch of squishy mud simply makes me want to toss whatever footwear I might be wearing off my feet and immediately go on a barefoot mud march!

Farmland mud is just the best, isn't it? Lots of dirt field paths here as well, and I too like to wait until rain turns them into a muddy wonderland. And you can usually quickly take a detour on a ploughed field for a squishy adventure in even deeper mud!

While there's plenty of precipitation in the winter, I also much prefer going on barefoot walks in spring or fall weather, when it's not so cold, or even in the summer since we often get short but very heavy showers that can quickly make a quagmire out of any stretch of bare soil!

 

It's so hard to choose just one surface that I enjoy walking on since I enjoy walking on all surfaces barefoot. I love some nice thick mud, adore the smooth dusty tile store floors, car parks and I love grass.

Today it is snow and ice. I hate shoes!

I know how you feel I hate shoes and socks today the concrete at the gas station felt really good on my bare feet . I’m thinking of painting my toenails a light gray what do you think?

27F out and I have been in and out of the house all day with minimal recovery time.
