Than the existence of a single planet? Perhaps that's why life of many different forms exists elsewhere in the universe. The universe is a very big place. One idea I read was that our existence is basically God playing hide and seek with him/herself... funky. To be omniscient - you have to experience everything - all of our experiences contribute to the whole. Or just that consciousness is the universe/God experiencing itself. There are rather a large number of highly improbable occurrences that have come together to form our existence, let alone our awareness of our existence.
TW I agree with you but I might give up the ghost on this debate. Types like Maelstrom will not change their minds on this kind of stuff. (S)He is an Evangelical Atheist.
I used to be! There's no harm in trying. Everyone can change - but that works in all directions. Maelstrom isn't open to change... yet. Maybe one day he will be, even if it isn't in this incarnation :daisy:
Yes, and I've heard that those who worship the Great Banana started their own religion about six years ago. Unfortunately, it took them only one year to split up (banana split ) into two groups. And those two groups have been at war with each other ever since. The point of contention that led to war, believe it or not, was whether the Great Banana is peeled or unpeeled. Pretty silly, really.
And an acorn you say? Oh that's not going to sit well with the Bananans (either faction). No sir, not at all.
Be careful monkey, the last person who suggested such a thing was promptly crucified . . . twice--once on a banana tree by the Bananans, and once on an oak tree by the Acornians.
Yeah, that's a good attitude. But for people who know not what they do when it comes to crucifixions, those damned Acornians sure are good at it. Too good, if you ask me!
