I chatted to him in a PM just a few weeks ago. In regards to anything i've learned that he's a bit of a stubborn but friendly dude. Stubborn because he didn't want any help with upgrading this place which is fine. I respect that and i respect him highly.
I'd PM him if you want him his advice on anything.
It's his site that Zenkarma admins.

He avoids things such as uploading videos in order to avoid clogging up the servers until they run like a snail.
This simple approach avoids him needing to charge us for membership, or having to flood the site with adverts.
Signing an advertising contract with Google and allowing regional advertising involves everything running via their servers, which is equivalent to selling your soul to the devil.

 

I'm talking about upgrading this forum from xf 1 to xf 2. He didn't want to make that change just yet.

 

can a mod please rename this thread to "i know more about forums than skip."?
