Crystal Meth can make you think more clearly for about one dose? I think some general things People get from drugs: increased sociability, pain relief, exploring novel states of awareness. These are fairly universal things people seek regardless of drugs. However I also think with the internet, there is this somewhat "hallucinatory" (for a lack of a better word) aspect where we have all this data that just comes to us upon instantaneous searches, and you can talk to people all over the world within seconds, not to mention all the potential for sensory enhancement with loads of music, games and art available. So in all these senses I would contend there is nothing 'clear headed' about the internet in comparison of how we tend to process our immediate environment and it is like drugs in this sense of abstractness.
Yeah, I'll pass. I like my teeth. LOL You can get the same things from just about anywhere else. Pain relief is the one reason I'm so big on legal weed. I wish my gramma had had access to it during her three years of cancer treatment; which failed anyway. Also, for anxiety, PTSD, Parkinsons... I'm sure I don't have to tell you.. The over stimulation caused by the internet.. Guilty.. Working on cutting back a lot of that.. I'm told that going 36 hours without sleep is bad for you. :/
So you're a proponent of legal weed and it's benefits but don't understand why people cloud their mind? ... ummm ok What I'm talking about in regards to the internet, doesn't necessarily have to do with spending an exorbitant amount of time on it. What I'm saying is that the internet essentially functions as a distorted reality.
I had a lot of bad experiences with drugs in general. Mostly due to people. I do support legal weed for people who need it Like my buddy with Parkinsons or my Gram when she has cancer.. Not my friend who's barely left the couch in five years and turns into the devil when the supply dries up. I agree that the internet it distorted us, chat rooms were like crack for me back in the day. I'm trying to give it all up except for research stuff.
I don't do street drugs anymore, unless you're counting medical marijuana as a "street drug" (which my psychiatrist does). But I am on Abilify which is an anti-psychotic for schizophrenia. Incidentally I am skeptical as to whether or not I actually suffer from schizophrenia.
