green.earth.al - back in 1999 I was signing up to the Rage Against the Machine forum specifically to advocate for Ralph Nader and the Green Party in the 2000 elections. I wanted a username that was available on the forum but also available on AOL. I wanted something that would make people think of the Green Party whenever they saw one of my posts. I tried GreenAl and GreenAlex on AOL but they were already taken. I tried a few more things that were also taken. I tried GreenEarthAl and that was not taken and so that became my username on the internet for all things political.

 

In another forum we'd make bets and the loser had to use a monkey picture for their avatar for 2 weeks. I lost the bet right before I joined this forum and someone nicknamed me monkey boy so I just used the name. Pretty dumb story. I wasn't planning on staying here very long.
