JesusDiedForU off topic question, but Ok, first of all, Thank you very much for asking a Muslim such a question, may Allah bless you dear brother =) What do you mean exactly by killing? killing who? however, read the following verses, Quraan: And fight in the Way of Allah those who fight you, but transgress not the limits. Truly, Allah likes not the transgressors. Quraan: But if they incline to peace, you also incline to it, and (put your) trust in Allah. Verily, He is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower. Why, to Christians, is fighting and killing for your god so bad, but fighting and killing for your country is ok. Isnt our gods larger than our political ties? Besides, like Christians havent done the whole killing in the name of god thing before, for no good reason.

Cat, Thanks for all you've been posting here. I've read it through it all (this one at least) and found it very interesting. You are obviously a very knowledgable person! From reading your posts, I've learnt a little about your view of Christianity, but I'm intrigued about what your main views are. Are you -- quite simply -- a Musilm? Or a Christian? Or perhaps someone who believes in elements of both faiths? And could you (briefly) list the main things that you think Christians have got wrong? Also, Cat, I would like to share my story with you -- something you may find pretty interesting (whether you believe in Christ or not). Essentially, I believe that God told me which is the true religion... I never used to be a Christian, just a believer in God, but 5 years ago I prayed to him asking -- basically -- "which is the true religion?". My mind, at that time was quite open -- I had Christian friends, Hindu friends, Islamic friends, Sikh friends, my girlfriend was Buddhist, two of my grandparents were Jehovah's Witnesses. And of course, I live in the UK, where pretty much everyone is an atheist, including my parents. So I have no cultural predisposition to any particular faith, other than not believing in anything. In my prayer, I asked how I can receive eternal life, saying "I don't want to die", at which point I saw a cross! The cross was not floating in the room, rather it appeared in my eyes, in a similar fashion to when you stare at a light and close your eyes, only this was clearer and brighter than anything I'd ever seen before with my eyes shut. The cross was not an image of a real life cross, rather a perfect 'logo' shape. There was nothing ambiguous about the shape -- the corners were sharp with the 3 top parts equally proportioned and I remember the bottom part was exactly twice as long as the top parts. The image was there for at least 10 minutes, after which I went to sleep. I find it impossible to believe that what I saw could be a random trick of the eye. Nor do I believe that it was a hallucenation created by my subconscious (I have never experienced anything else at all like it in my life; nor have I been able to reproduce the phenomenon, despite numerous attempts, all without prayer; nor have I ever heard of anyone else ever experiencing such a thing, which you would expect if it was a trick of the mind). Finally, I do not believe what I saw could it be some kind of deception on behalf of a malevolent force trying to throw me in the wrong direction, because I cannot accept that God would allow me to see such a thing during a prayer to him unless it were from him.
Amen Dizzy man. I have heard the voice of God. When you seek God in truth, He will respond in truth. He is a God of wonder. Most of the other religions are but smoke and mirrors, all placed here to lead men away from God. That is why God tells us to first seek Him. To often, people seek God by joining a religion, and then feel they have done what was expected. Yet when you personally ask God to reveal Himself to you apart from established religions, that is when God can truly speak to you. When you are bowing down to Idols, your focus is often on the creation, rather than the Creator.
My dear brother Dizzy Man Yup =) Welcome =) Thank you very much, thank you for your time, I really do appreciate it deeply =) I love studying Christianity so much, I memorized many biblical verses, my bible became ragged because I use it every single day, I got another one, now I have many bibles with different versions =) !!! Yes, I think it is very obvious if you read my signature, my profile, what I wrote above my avatar, my other threads. As a Muslim I should believe in Jesus the Christ the Messiah as a great prophet and messenger of Allah (God), he will return someday, there are many similar teachings of both faiths that because the God who revealed Torah and Gospel is the same God who revealed the Quraan, I wrote threads concerning these similarities. Allah stated in Quraan: say (O Muslims), '' we believe in Allah and that which has been sent down to us and that which has been sent down to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and to [the offspring of the twelve sons of Jacob] and that which has been given to Mosesè (Torah)and Jesusè (Injeel-Gospel), ….''Accordingly, Jesus and Moses are prophets of Allah and Gospel and Torah revealed to them from Allah. What happened was that all of these prophets (before Muhammad) were not well received by the majority of the people, for instance they started tampering[corrupting] with the teachings of Moses and Jesus peace be upon them. That is why Allah has sent Muhammad with the last Message (i.e. the Quraan) to bring all of mankind back to the true belief and to worship one God, without partners or intermediaries. [NIV]Matthew: 15: 3: And why do you break the command of God for the sake of your tradition? … 6: … Thus you nullify the word of God for the sake of your tradition…they worship me in vain; their teaching are but rules taught by men. Jeremiah 8. 4-8… I have listened attentively, but they do not say what is right. No one repents of his wickedness... But my people do not know the requirements of the LORD. 8 " 'How can you say, "We are wise, for we have the law of the LORD," when actually the lying pen of the scribes has handled it falsely? 9 The wise will be put to shame; they will be dismayed and trapped. Since they have rejected the word of the LORD, what kind of wisdom do they have? Jeremiah6. 10: To whom can I speak and give warning? Who will listen to me? Their ears are closed so they cannot hear. The word of the LORD is offensive to them; they find no pleasure in it. Jeremiah14. 14 Then the LORD said to me, "The prophets are prophesying lies in my name. I have not sent them or appointed them or spoken to them. They are prophesying to you false visions, divinations, idolatries and the delusions of their own minds. 15 Therefore, this is what the LORD says about the prophets who are prophesying in my name: I did not send them Jeremiah23.36 But you must not mention 'the oracle of the LORD ' again, because every man's own word becomes his oracle and so you distort the words of the living God, the LORD Almighty, our God. Quraan: 2:85: … Then do you believe in a part of the Scripture and reject the rest? Quraan:… inspite of the fact that a party of them used to hear the Word of Allah, then they used to change it knowingly after they understood it?...Know they not that Allah knows what they conceal and what they reveal, … then woe to those who write the Book with their own hands and then say, this is from Allah, … Woe to them for what their hands have written… Allah told us that men corrupted Torah and gospel by deleting and adding verses to them; therefor Allah has sent Muhammad with the last Message (i.e. the Quraan) And Muhammad is the prophet of God and there are prophecies in the bible about him (pbuh) Quraan: 15:9: Verily, We, it is We who have sent down the Dhikr (i.e. Quraan) and surely I will guard it (from corruption). For Muslims the Qur’an is the last but not the only holy book revealed by Allah to mankind through His messengers. It is, however, the only holy book which remained intact from the time of its revelation until the present time. No additions, deletions, or interpolations found its way into the Qur’an. Quraan: 27:76: Verily, this Quraan narrates to the Children of Israel most of that in which they differ. Matthew; 21: 43: Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof. John 4.21-34: (Jesus) saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Fatherè (see he said father not the son or the Holy Spirit, he only mentioned the father! We Muslims only worship the father). Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship… and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father…for the Father seeketh such to worship him. Acts 17:18… He è (Paul) seems to be advocating foreign gods. They believe that: 1. Jesus and the Holy Spirit are Gods 2. Jesus died on the cross. 3. Original sin. And these are wrong things. Of course, my deepest pleasure, and thank you very much for sharing me your story, I really do appreciate deeply =), thank you I read your entire story, I am so happy that you believe in God know I wish you will always be so , but you have to know something, you can find such stories happened to many people from different religions and beliefs, so!!! Who is claiming the truth? Or who has the truth? Once I saw in TV, (note: I don't remember the story exactly) that a women lost her son, he was a soldier, however, one night she saw him in her bedroom (I think It wasn't dream) he told her that everybody will have eternal life or will go to heaven after death? (He meant that it doesn't matter whether you are Christian or Muslim or Hindu etc)!!!! What do you think? I think, this story was posted in the newspapers too. Another story about a man who saw (I don't remember who maybe Buddha) asked him to worship him because he is the true God? However, he concluded that he was deceived; People have to know and believe that there are other creatures living with us (jinns- Satan- devils) they can deceive people, once a devil mocked at me when I was in my way to pray I saw him with my two eyes in my bedroom!!!! He then disappeared; I think we shouldn't base our faith on such things because it could be right or wrong. Once I read a story of a Muslim man in a newspaper who apostatized, he became Satanist and wears crossV!!!! Myself, I saw many photos of Satanists who wear cross, why I really don't know. Maybe fashion. Here is an image as an example; this image was taken by a Muslim man in Makkah!! Does that mean that Islam is the true religion? This cloud formed Allah's name in Arabic Çááå (Allah is the name of God according to Islam) not Islam only, according to the bible too, Click here and see a Photostat Accordingly: it is better to don't base our belief on such things, you can't prove or be sure that God is he who showed you that?Have a nice, peaceful and faithful day =) My deepest sincere best wishes Peace and love Yours Sincerely,Cat Stevens Note: Silly, Irrelevant, and the like, responses, posts, comments will be ignored (it depends on my mood and time if I won't ignore them), taking off the topic is losers' style, ask yourself: will you write such response if the writer wasn't a Muslim!
Dizzy Man BTW: Quraan: O Children of Adam! Let not (Satan) deceive you, as he got your parents (Adam and (Eve)) out of Paradise ... Verily, he and Qabeeluhu (his soldiers from the jinns or his tribe) see you from where you cannot see them. Verily, We made the Shayatin (devils) Auliya (protectors and helpers) for those who believe not. In Islam we believe that Satan wants people to don't believe in Allah or to believe in false gods and to follow false religions, and to make the believers disobey God (Allah) by committing sins and wants them o apostatize…etc Quraan: And say: "My Lord! I seek refuge with You from the whisperings (suggestions) of the Shayatin (devils). Allah told us so many things about Satan and devils, when did they come to a man, and how they deceive them etc. Quraan: he ((Satan)) said: …Verily, I will mislead them, and surely, I will arouse in them false desires; and certainly, I will order them to slit the ears of cattle, and indeed I will order them to change the nature created by Allah. Quraan: Verily, those who are Al-Muttaqoon (the pious), when an evil thought comes to them from (Satan), they remember (Allah), and (indeed) they then see (aright). It is better to seek the truth. Have a nice, peaceful and faithful day =) My deepest sincere best wishes Peace and love Yours Sincerely,Cat Stevens Note: Silly, Irrelevant, and the like, responses, posts, comments will be ignored (it depends on my mood and time if I won't ignore them), taking off the topic is losers' style, ask yourself: will you write such response if the writer wasn't a Muslim!
campbell34 Maybe it wasn't the voce of God? Let us call all atheists or those who don't belong to any religion to do so!!!!!!!!! Would God speak to them? Dizzy and Campbell...OK, you've both asked for and had supernormal experiences that confirm the truth of your faith for you...no argument from me, very cool. A devout Hindu prays to God to reveal Himself, and the Sanskrit symbol for universal truth appears in the same way as the cross did to Dizzy, or he sees Krishna and hears His voice. Possibilities: A. the Hindu has had a real experience of God, as valid as the ones you both had. B.The Devil disguised himself as God for the purpose of decieving the Hindu. A or B?
The real God is far more practical than cloud formations. The real God will work in ways that will guide you throught your life, and His demonstrations of proof, will not leave you scratching your head. And yes the Devil does disguise Himself as God. And that is why in the Bible it tells us to test the Spirits. Most other faiths donot have a clue what that means, yet the God of the Bible has made a way for believers to know the difference between the devil and God. I have tested the Spirits myself, and if they don't come from God and you mention the name Jesus Christ, you should see them scatter. Demons hate the name of Jesus Christ, almost as much as they fear it.
The voice of God lifts men up, and He inspires them to speak the truth. The voice of the Devil inspires others to murder the innocent. Anyone who seeks God with a true heart, will find Him. Because God is looking for those people.

campbell34 well. believe it or not, One of Allah's creature talked to me, I was awake, but I couldn't see it, it told me things about Allah!!!!!!! I swear by Allah that I am saying the thruth? we shouldn't base our beliefs on such things. such things could happen to people from other religions and beliefs. Cat, thanks for your responses. There have been a few arguments/explanations mentioned here for why my vision of a cross may not be a genuine sign from God. Here I will try to explain why I don't accept them... "People of other faiths have been known to have similar visions, seemingly proving their faith is the true one" Yes, but I wasn't looking for proof that my faith was the true one. I wasn't really even a Christian until I had my vision. My mind was open to all faiths. I asked God with an open mind, and wasn't looking for confirmation of any paticular religion. Seeing a cross shocked me because Christ wasn't at the forefront of my thoughts at the time. "There have been many instances of people being 'shown' the true faith. Such a people seeing clouds form in the shape of Allah's name, or having Buddha appear in front of them and telling them to worship him, etc. etc..." I wonder how many of those people, at that exact time, were praying to God and specifically asking him which was the true faith? Probably few, if any. Also, the fact that I saw the cross in my eyes is significant. If you see a "sign" in real life, it could conceivably have been engineered. If you meet a spiritual "visitor", he could conceivably be an imposter. But a vision is a totally personal and intimate phenomenon and impervious to external interference. To use an analogy, most "signs" from God are like him writing a letter, whereas what I saw was like God whispering in my ear. "The cross was recognised as a religious symbol long before Jesus." That may be, and there may still be people to whom the cross represents something other than Christianity. But for me -- like the vast majority of the modern western world -- a cross represents Christianity, so I can only assume that my question to God was answered in my own terms, rather than in someone else's terms. "It was reported that a woman was visited by her dead son, who told her that everyone will go to heaven. This would contradict any visions seeming to affirm Christianity." Such phenomena is in keeping with Christianity. The universal consensus is that 'ghosts' of dead people are a demonic deception. Christians believe strongly that Satan tries to deceive us and lure us into false beleifs (and that Islam is one such deception). Muslims believe the same, in fact they have a much more physical belief in jinns/demons visiting and deceiving us. Even for a Christian, it is not easy knowing which experiences to put one's faith in. But Jesus told us that prayer scares off Satan, and strengthens us against his influence, so I believe any answer given to us in prayer to God is the most credible experience we can have. Love, Dizzy Man
Dizzy Man You are more than welcome dear brother, I thank you for sharing me your story =) I believe that we shouldn't believe in such important issues in such way, you received it while you were praying, well, you can't prove that God showed you so, but it is totally up to you =) Thank you again for sharing me your story, I do appreciate it.
